I'm a 49 year old divorced father of two. I tend to go through phases of being in shape and being out of shape. I have an office job so that doesn't help.

I don't like diets much. Really enjoy eating good food and wine/beer. I'm trying to learn to cook/prepare really good vegetable dinners and salads so I can have my cake and eat it too, so to speak.

Welcome to SP! I am not a big fan of dieting either, but I'm getting used to the idea that I have to limit the "good stuff" Good luck with your weight loss journey!

Hey ! Welcome to the Rowers Team! I love good food and wine too... and Manhattans (eek -- bourbon is not diet friendly), but pulling a few thousand meters on the erg sure helps... hope to see you on the monthly challenge leader board on the team page!

Welcome to Spark! The hardest thing I had to do when I started was cut back on good beer and wine, but in addition to losing 50 pounds, I find I'm saving about $200 a month! You can do it too!

Welcome to the SparkPeople Indoor Rowers Team. According to DrMirkin.com, if you work out like a serious athlete, you can have your cake and eat it too. While I don't recommend processed foods, if you make them a small part of our food choices and focus on lots of live foods, you can have some food that feeds your soul too.

Good luck in achieving your goals and finding the right balance for you!
