Becoming an Eagle on Pound at a Time!

After a year of health issues it is time to start fighting to regain my life and get back on to my path of weight loss success!

After a year of health issues it is time to start fighting to regain my life and get back on to my path of weight loss success!

****************************************
The Eagle has the longest life-span of its species. It can live up to 70 years. But to reach this age, the eagle must make a hard decision in its 40's. Its long and flexible talons can no longer grab prey which serves as food. Its long sharp beak becomes bent. Its old age and heavy wings due to its thick feathers become stuck to its chest and make it difficult to fly. Then, the eagle is left with only two options: die or go through a painful process of change which lasts 150 days.

The process requires that the eagle fly to a mountain top and sit on its nest. There the eagle knocks its beak against a rock until it plucks it out. After plucking it out, the eagle will wait for a new beak to grow back and then it plucks out its talons. When the talons grow back, the eagle starts plucking out its old-aged feathers. After 5 months, the eagle takes its famous flight of rebirth and lives for another 30 years.

While it is taking me longer than 5 months to accomplish my rebirth, I am busy plucking my beak, talons and old-aged feathers out (otherwise known as knocking away the pounds). Eventually, I too will celebrate my pseudo eagle flight of rebirth by hitting my goal weight. I know that with God's guidance and my continued perseverance, I WILL SUCCEED!!!!

Wow I loved the analogy with the eagle's transformation. I never knew that about eagle's either, how cool. Its reminiscent of a phoenix. Your journey is motivational and I hope you don't mind me adding you. I can use all the inspiration I can get to keep on track.
