Hi! I'm a 44 year old mother of 3 children and 3 step-children. They are the best kids anywhere! I'm now married to the love of my life since 2009. I was so busy enjoying life and being involved in everything going on around me that I neglected myself to the point of being too large and out of shape to participate in things I want to do. Recently I was ready to go to camp with the teen girls in my church for a week of hiking, camping, and having fun. The week before we left, my lupus acted up to the point I couldn't go. I know if I exercise, eat right, drink my water, and get enough sleep, I am better able to avoid and recover quickly from lupus flares. Since I wasn't doing any of my "take care of me" things for the past 3 years, I couldn't avoid or recover from this episode in time to go to camp. I don't want to be a bystander in life! I realized I am still young and have so many things I want to do. If I don't take care of me, I will be doing nothing but allowing others to take care. I began again to take my health seriously and wow have I seen some quick changes! My changes are life changes, not just another diet. I'm ready to dive in and enjoy every moment!

My Goals:
drink 8 cups of water/day

eat 4 servings of fruit and vegetables each day

Cardio exercise 6 days/week



My Program:
I am using the nutrition and exercise trackers to keep me on track. My cardio right now is very brisk walking and my strength training is done from exercises on SP with bands and an exercise ball. I would never make it without all the great recipes you all have submitted on SP!

How's things going? My family is heading to Utah to take my daughter to college (Utah State), I hope I will remember what I have learned and be able to maintain what I have already lost and not gain on our 2 week trip!
