I love the heading of your post...onward. I find this site is excellent at helping you move forward. I track every bite before it goes into my mouth and that helps me achieve balance. The users have entered every food imaginable so it's rare that I have to add the nutrition values myself. I was very sedentary three months ago when a diagnosis of insulin dependent diabetes had me scrambling to change my life but I started with the chair exercise videos and they gave me confidence to move on to the resistance band exercise videos and now I'm doing at least an hour a day.
I think because this site has so many ways of making you accountable to yourself, it really pulls you in line. I hope you have as much success as I'm having. :)
Howdy! I want to second that welcome. I agree with Lotus - the information and tools here are second to none. Some folks don't use the trackers regularly and I think their program suffers for it. I swear by the trackers! And I also swear by the Community. If it weren't for my Spark Friends, all of whom I met by postings or Team involvement, I wouldn't have stuck around. So far I am down 57.5 pounds, exercising every single day and coming up on one year on Spark People. I read The Spark before I joined - the book the founder wrote - and found the principles very refreshing and different in many ways that any of the gadzillion "diet programs" I had tried.
