The road to a healthier ME!!
I am a 39 year old mother of 4. My 3 girls were born about 2 years apart from each other, so it made it very hard to lose the baby weight after each birth. I have a very hard time sticking to an exercise program, and my husband and I have a hard time eating healthy. My husband, however, is one of the lucky ones because he has a very high metabolism. I love the outdoors, and being active, but for some reason for the last 5 years, I just have not been as active as I used to be. ...
I am a 39 year old mother of 4. My 3 girls were born about 2 years apart from each other, so it made it very hard to lose the baby weight after each birth. I have a very hard time sticking to an exercise program, and my husband and I have a hard time eating healthy. My husband, however, is one of the lucky ones because he has a very high metabolism. I love the outdoors, and being active, but for some reason for the last 5 years, I just have not been as active as I used to be. Update: For the first couple years that I was a spark member, I just didn't find the time to make a healthy lifestyle my priority. I let life get in the way, and used it as an excuse. In August of 2010, I made the decision that it was high time that I made a healthy lifestyle a priority for me, not anybody else, but for ME!! I was able to lose 30 lbs within those first 4 months, then I maintained that weight for sometime. A plateau is what I found myself on, it was frustrating, but also an excuse to maybe let life try to take control again. However, I was able to maintain the loss for the most part and not gain much, but I also stopped being really active on Sparkpeople again. April 2011 rolled around and I realized that I was the only ONE who could make a positive change for me, so Sparkpeople here I come again. I became really active on the site again, and low and behold the scale is moving again. Even better though, I think is the fact that I have found a way to tone those flabby arms and legs of mine--Strength training, who knew? Sparkpeople of course and many others!! I have decided that for me to reach my goals, I need to find challenges here that I can do because too often if I try to do things on my own, I just fall flat on my face! The scale may not be moving much, but I think I am learning that a little here and a little there, may actually be a better way. Like the saying goes "Slow and steady wins the race". I really want the weight loss to be a lifestyle!!
