Happy, Healthy and Hopeful

Hubby and I are at it again. Since July we both have lost a total of 50+ pounds. So... we've lost the easy ones! Now I am looking forward to in 2010 to reach my personal goal of 150. I'm also very busy going to school to advance from LPN to RN. I've gotten a lot done this year and one thing that I would encourage anyone to do is this if they are depressed - GET HELP!!!! It has made all the diffence in the world to me to have the depression in check. I've also taken it slow to get there ...

I've also taken it slow to get there and not rush it (It's been a year since I started antidpressents, seen a therapist, started seriously exercising and eating healthy) All these together, at my pace (with no guilt) have made all the difference in the world.

My Program:
To gain control of my eating habits and not yo-yo anymore. To have an active lifestyle that keeps me healthy and strong as I get older. Treat all food that I eat as medicine for my body!I basically never eat any white flour or sugar. I eat lots of whole grains, fruits, veggies, fish. I take my vitamins incl. a multi, calcium, Omega-3, Vit C and magnesium. (I'm very concerned about osteoporosis!) I HAVE to start moving.... I started with food. I exercise almost everyday for 45 - 60 min.I have a journal/notebook that I record what I eat, weigh, and my measurements and anything I find in a magazine I think will inspire me. I prepare my food for the week, that way I just have to grab it from the freezer and I am prepared for the day!

Personal Information:
I am a nurse and love it! I served my country for 20 years (10 on active duty). I love gardening, jewelry making and reading. I live in New Hamshire with my wonderful husband who is also dieting w/ me. I would love to meet others who are on this same journey as me. Helps to know others who are doing the same!

Hey Judy! Glad to be friends! I'm hypo, Hashimoto's Disease. Since I've been on the meds, I've done nothing but gain weight. I'm hoping to see an endo sometime next month to figure this all out. Thanks again for your idea on the challenge. I hope you don't mind that I switched it up a little. I'm actually looking forward to getting back into strength training. Have a Happy New Year!

Thank you for visiting my page! I have found so much motivation from the journeys' of others that I am honoured if anyone finds inspiration from mine!

It's nice to see another couple creating healthy lifestyles together!! My DH and I have always been close but moving into the latter half of our life together with fitness and health on our side has added immensely to our quality of life.

Good morning and HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Thanks for commenting on my blog. You know, to me this really didn't seem like work to get these results. I love running and working out, just needed to get back to it. And the biggest thing that helped me accomplish what I did (and still doing), was the healthy eating. I love this site; it has so much helpful info for that. They make it easy too, just plug in your foods, and it calculates everything for you. What could be easier?
You keep at going for your goals. If you slip one day, don't sweat it; there is always tomorrow. I'm adding you as a friend to my Sparkpage. Have a great day!
