I lost 120 pounds... That was the easy part. Now to keep it off...

I have always been a big girl, even as a child. In January 2009 I weighed over 270 lbs which was the heaviest I had ever been and was tired of feeling like life was passing me by. I thought if I weighed less maybe I would be happier so I began to make small changes in my diet and activity level. It has been a relatively simple process: Move More and Eat Less. Isn't it crazy how the simple things are the hardest to do?

I have lost 120 lbs and am trying to maintain my weight loss. I have come a long way but I am still trying to find balance and be happy with who I am right now. My challenge now is to continue living a healthy lifestyle, get stronger, be happier, and make good choices everyday.

As you start out on your journey to a 'healthier' you please remember that setbacks and bumps on the road will happen. Don't give up! You didn't gain overnight and you won't lose it overnight either. You eat an elephant a bite at a time... if you tried to eat it all at once it wouldn't fit down your throat.

2. Maintain a BMI in the 'healthy' range, one day at a time.

3. Make fitness fun, one day at a time.

4. Change the things I can change; accept the things I can't change; be wise enough to know what I can and can't change.

My Program:
1. Eat food that is good for my body at regular intervals throughout the day.

2. Be active for at least one hour every day, six days a week.

3. Monitor my health and weight daily, and make adjustments as needed.

Personal Information:
I just moved to Virginia Beach and am trying to meet new people and make friends. I love music, art, reading, being outside, running, hooping, and living life to the fullest.

Other Information:
Things I have to tell myself every day:

1. Keep It Simple Szydlo!

2. Everything is possible for a valiant heart.

3. Failure is not the worst thing that can happen.

Thank you for the comment on my blog. I love that verse too. It makes me realize how small we really are to His great plan and how much we should depend upon Him. Have a great day!
