I am a mother of 3 currently on a personal journey to get healthy and hopefully lose some weight in the process. Thought that I may be more motivated and successful by joining an online support group.

I have two girls in college (19 and 18) and a 6yr old son. He really keeps me young. I really want to get healthy so I can keep up with him as he gets older and I really do not want folks to think I am his grandmother.

I think turning the big 4-0 played a significant role in my decision to try to become healthy. I tried a few different diets and started the yo-yo thing. I would lose a few pounds and then our weight-loss group would dissolve and the pounds would creep back on ... and they brought friends!!!! I also decided to "donate" money every month to our local gym. (You know, I had good intentions of going to the gym, but would just pay that bill every month and the next monthly bill would arrive and I still had not found time to get there).

This routine continued until I woke up one morning and decided to step on the scale and WOW!! I weighed the same (actually a little more) then I did when I was 9 months pregnant.


I am a member of Weight Watchers at work, and this helps to keep me motiviated, however, generally when our 12 weeks is up, we do not find enough people to re-enroll so I begin my backward journey into my old habits. I am hoping by being proactive and joining an online community I can stop the cycle!!

My Program:
I have joined weight watchers at work and my family has joined a gym with activities for my 6yr.old. I hope that this will be another motivator toward a regular exercise routine.

Hi, Lori! What a nice surprise to see you on my page a while back! It's been such a long time! Very sorry to learn your mother lost her battle with cancer back in November. I'm sure it's been tough for you and your family. Perhaps now you will be able to get back to focusing on you!

My DD1 enjoyed her first year of college and now my DD2 is getting ready (although she's got a couple years to go). Hope your children are all doing well.

Keeping my fingers crossed that you'll be frequenting Spark fairly often, or at least off and on (are you still spinning?). Good luck with your health and fitness journey!

Hey Lori! How are you? Just wanted to let you know that we are going on vacation next week, and then hopefully, things will settle down that I can get to the park!!! I did get there this week for a couple of hours during the day. Took the kids over so that we could get our pictures done, and took a little time to get on a couple of rides. My son got on the SuperDooperLooper for the first time! He loved it. I am still waiting to go on Fairenheit though. Did you see what is coming for next year?
