I'm back...

Glad to be back, it means I'm taking a step in the right direction. hope I can keep heading the right way for a wee bit longer this time.

What a journey.... many hills, and at times they have seemed too steep, but I've learned to keep telling myself to put in one more step and that sore muscles are a good thing, they mean that I am only getting stronger. I know this to be true, but still some days are so very hard to keep ...

I know this to be true, but still some days are so very hard to keep going. But going I am... I look at my three kids and my loving husband and think about what they mean to me and realize that I mean just as much to them. So I keep moving. I've learned not to wait anymore, that I can do things today - sure running 5k would be a lot easier if I weighed less, but I'm sure I'm burning more calories now than if I did weigh less - always see the positive and it it will help to keep you moving. I'm 30 pounds down and learning to love life for the moment and have hopes for the future. Cheer's to moving forward! (May 21, 2010)_____________________________________

Hi, I'm a mother of three kids, 5 and under, and am looking to be a better role model for them, as well as get healthy so I can do the things I used to enjoy doing.

My Goals:
1. to become a fit and active person again
2. to loose 80 pounds
3. to be a great role model for my children

My Program:
At the moment I am walking for 30 minutes every day and doing weights 2 times a week. I also do a 50 minute boxercise class one time a week.
I am also trying to keep my daily calorie consumption between 1500 - 1700 calories. This is a bit of a struggle for me, but I am getting better at it.

Great job on your 5K! I am tentatively planning on another one in a few weeks but it is so hot here I am a little concerned about that. Just got back from vacation on Saturday so need to get back on the track. I did run a couple times on the treadmill while I was gone but need to start paying more attention to what goes in my mouth and get the scale going down again.

Good guess! emoticon I'm from Stoney Creek and I noticed your blog was written the day after the Ancaster race and you're in the Southern Ontario Sparks (that's how I saw your blog). So I just figured I'd take a stab at it. You're much braver than I am. I didn't want to run that race because of all the hills. I learned my lesson on hills after the Around the Bay 5k haha. Good for you though. It's so exciting to race. You're going to be hooked from now on!!
