Hot Mama Mess

I joined SparkPeople initially in August of 2007. Didn't do much with it until February of 2009. From 2009-2010, I lost 40 pounds, began eating right and exercising regularly. In Sept 2010, I got a new job with a different schedule (full time, finally! Until I had a baby.), and the exercising basically stopped. Then the tracking and the healthy eating stopped. In February of 2011, I found out that I was pregnant. Fast forward to now - I'm 10 pounds heavier than my highest weight in 2009, ...

In Sept 2010, I got a new job with a different schedule (full time, finally! Until I had a baby.), and the exercising basically stopped. Then the tracking and the healthy eating stopped. In February of 2011, I found out that I was pregnant. Fast forward to now - I'm 10 pounds heavier than my highest weight in 2009, I'm tired, achy, am miserable with my body, and my emotional eating is pretty bad!! I feel like a hot mama mess here, people. The idea is to eventually take the "mess" out of that title, I suppose!

My daughter is almost a year old, and it's been a LONG year. A lot has happened, and I know that getting on the right track isn't going to be easy. My father passed away on September 12, 2011, 5 weeks before Amy was born, and then my grandfather (my dad's dad) passed away 9 days before she was born. Throw into that a bad experience breastfeeding - I pumped exclusively for a month, then had my appendix taken out after a night in the ER (when Amy was exactly a month old), then stopped breastfeeding entirely. She never latched...and I was counting on burning those calories! Anyway, add to all that a good fistfull of postpartum depression, and here I am now.

And now...is just the beginning of a new day, right? Let's make it count!

My Program:
I'm starting over. It's September 2012, and my daughter is almost a year old. My first focus will be on reigning in my eating, and then I will start bringing in the calorie burn.

Okay..I logged on for the first time in like a year..I guess this means i should buckle down and do something about it. My curiosity and desire is obviously here with me..now I just need motivation. I am starting a running class in January ..I am so nervous!!! I am looking for ideas on how to boost my metabolism so I thought i could find some here :)
