Loving Life @ 45
Hello everyone, Let me start by saying I am ready to do this again. I am 47 yrs old, I began my journey with SparkPeople when I was 45. I have a son who is in his 3rd yr in college and is an awesome inspiration. Josh is the type of person who will let nothing get in his way of what he wants. So with that said, you will now understand that he will be my inspiration, when times get tough I will pull from his strength and I will SUCCEED! Everyone has excuses as to why they are where they are ...
Everyone has excuses as to why they are where they are today, why we need the support and knowledge of SparkPeople. Let me say I am not asking for a pity party, but I feel my friends and future motivators need to understand some of the challenges I have, and may be able to help me overcome some of the obstacles. I had back surgery in 2008 and was sedentary for 1 1/2 yrs, got myself on track did pretty well, I wasn't as far as I wanted to be but was on the right track. I went back to work and I work 12 hr days which doesn't allot a lot of time for exercise nor do I have a ton of energy to put forth. I was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2009 had a radical hysterectomy and am currently taking hormones which seem to help add on the lbs. I don't have much energy, and guess I am going through a little depression. I am not sure if the depression is making me lack energy or vice versa. I am going to do this. I hope by changing my eating habits and doing as much exercise as I can, I will feel the change inside me and the desire to be who I know I am. I love life and want to LIVE life not just go through life. I know that may sound corny but I am sure some of you know where I am coming from. Here is to a successful journey into the unknown. I won't be as active on the site as I was originally but I will use the tools to help me get to my goal. My goal is to live a happier healthier lifestyle.

I have changed to a 1200 calorie a day diet, trying to eat 5 small meals a day. I go to physical therapy 3 days a week, also use treadmill, and bowflex at home.

I am looking forward to starting the second chapter in my life. I am very proud of my son. He is pursuing a Law Degree, which is pretty tough, but I know he will succeed!!
