Avery, age 20 months, before she lost her sight
December~Before my diet, when I needed to hide my big boohoncus behind my husband in pictures!
My two reasons for staying healthy-Auden & Avery
OK, so here I go again. I'm back close to my old weight and I swore I'd never do that again! So back to working hard at thinking about what goes in my mouth and more concentration on exercise. My goal is just to drop one pound a week. I think I can attain that. That way, I won't feel overwhelmed by the whole thing. So, here goes, c'mon 2009, work with me!!!
Auden was born in September and is such a blessing. He is a sweet little guy and big sister Avery is just crazy about him. She has adjusted to her glasses and wanted to know why baby brother didn't have them. Those babies are the loves of my life!
I just keep going up and down, up and down. I just had to put my weight ticker up five pounds again. I really have trouble staying motivated. My husband is an awesome cook and I just have trouble with saying no.
My little angel, Avery, developed cataracts in May and within a month was totally blind. She has had her lenses removed and is about to get magnifying glasses. She is so amazing. She has handled it so well and we have learned how to handle a huge set-back from watching her. Hopefully in a year she will be big enough to have articial lenses implanted giving her improved sight. She just turned two on July 5th.
Avery will have a new baby brother in September! We are so excited and hope that he will be born healthy. The congenital cataracts are inherited, so we pray that he will not be born with them or develop them.
I have gained a lot of my weight back and am having a lot of trouble re-losing it. I am back at 118 and want to go down to 110 again. This time it seems so much harder! I am hoping that SP will inspire me to be more successful.
The good news is that I am going to be a Mimi again in September. Avery will be 2 in July and she is the love of my life. I can't wait for my heart to expand with the birth of a new little one!
Well, next month I will be 58. I went down to 110 but then have gained back 6 pounds since May. I am going to start again today (8/13/07) to try to lose those 6 pounds again. I am so disappointed in myself! I still use the treadmill on a regular basis but think that I need to change up my exercise routine. I also need to watch what I eat more carefully. I need to rein in my chocolate intake. Wish me luck!
UPDATE: Well, I went on vacation and lost all my motivation after that. I have gained back three pounds. I am gradually trying to recharge my desire to lose again, but my heart is not in it as of yet.
UPDATE: I have now lost 18 pounds!!! Woo Hoo! Summer is almost here and I am soooo glad I joined SP. I can now wear any of my shorts or bathing suits and they all fit! This is what I could only dream about last winter!
I am 57 and became a grandma for the first time on July 5, 2006. I live in Birmingham, AL with my darling husband of 33 years. We are empty nesters with two daughters. Daughter #1 is 30 and lives in St Louis with her husband and 9 month old daughter. Daughter #2 is 27 and lives in Atlanta with her brand new husband. They were married last May 20, 2006. I had a big year, but also ate more than I should and am paying for it now. I began my diet the last week of December at 23 pounds over my ideal weight--the same weight I was when I was 9 months pregnant, and that is unacceptable! I want to make my family proud and, more importantly, myself proud!
I want to keep eating healthy, using my treadmill and fit into my favorite clothes again.
I eat small portions about 6 times a day. I walk with my co-workers during morning and afternoon breaks. When I get home, I walk on my treadmill for an hour.
I'm originally from Tallmadge, Ohio but have spent a lot of my adult life in Atlanta and Birmingham. I love the South!!!
