My name is Heather and I'm a 30 year old mom and wife. I am a very outgoing person, I have never met a stranger, and I'm not your typical overweight person. I love to watch movies, music is a much needed escape for me, I'm with friends every chance I get, my husband of 4 years and my little boy are the center of everything for me, I'm completely girly but can still get down and dirty with the guys, and am one of the most loyal people you will ever meet. I live life to the fullest and figured it was time I make my body match my personality. I work full time as well as take care of my family and so that leaves very little time for much else but with a little extra effort you can make anything you want to happen so here I am.
I have been overweight since my parents divorced when I was 11. I was always fine with my body till I was about 19 when I went from being a size 16/18 to where I am now which is a 24/26. I find that now when I go shopping when I go into a store I think to myself "wonder if they carry my size in here" and instead of looking for my size in something I look for the biggest size they have in it. I am very unhappy with the way things are now and I am starting to notice it taking an affect on my body. So it is time for a change.
I would love to make some new and lasting friends on this journey so anyone who can understand what I'm saying or feel where I'm coming from, or if ya just wanna talk for whatever reason please feel free to leave me a comment or mail me I'm very easy to talk to. My first goal is to lose weight and get to a size that allows me to enjoy life the way I want to and look at myself and feel good. My second goal is to hopefully meet some great people on here and make new friends.

Update: So this is what I'm doing. I work out 3 days a week for 60 minutes at home on my elliptical. I do a basic set of excercises for strength training 2 days a week. I am eating no more than 1400 calories a day and I am drinking nothing but water and sometimes juice or tea, but absolutely no pop. I already feel so much better.
I am going to completely throw myself into this healthy living thing and being a member of sparkpeople! If anyone wants to chat or needs some encouragement or just a friend I would love to talk with you...you can message me here or on facebook. I hope to hear from some of you!
My body has drastically changed over the last 5 years and I have ignored it long enough. It's time for a change so my first goal is to lose 15 pounds. I figure if I make small goals on the way to reaching the BIG goal it will make things much easier!
*First small goal to lose 15 pounds is done! Completed on 11/3/13. Next step...something I havent seen in a really long time...300 pounds. So next small goal is another 15 pounds!
