Love2RunGirl is going to get fit for life!
I have been a Mississippi Girl my entire life...even when we lived in Fort Worth, TX when I attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I have always dealt with weight issues since I was a child. I was what you would call a "pudgy" child. Then, around the 6th grade I started losing weight and everyone said how good I looked so I became obsessed with it. I became anorexic in the 7th & 8th grades. I was really skinny up until I had children. We had our first son 7 years ago and I lost some of the weight through breastfeeding. After I had our second son, I lost the weight again through breastfeeding but gained some of it back. I am on a mission to change my lifestyle and lose the weight in the process. I am a happy person but I would be even happier to at least be a size 8 again!!! I am thankful for three people that have inspired me to reach my goal. First, my sister Randee who looks just like she did in High School after having her two precious babies. Second, my friend Shelly who inspired me to start the Couch to 5K program on my iTouch this summer which has in turn given me a new love for running. Finally, my friend Cristina who inspired me to join this site! I will say that one of the neatest things that I have already learned through this experience is that a healthy lifestyle which includes diet and exercise is a sacrifice just like reading my Bible every morning is a sacrifice! You have to make the time to do the things that really matter. It’s your choice. In the Christian life there are sacrifices that we have to make but we have to remember the ULTIMATE sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for us! My favorite Bible verse is…”I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13
