Hi everyone. I've just returned to SparkPeople after a little over 2 yrs. I am now 46 years old and have gained 15 lbs since I registered in 2009. My weight is now at 270 lbs.

Weight has been an issue from birth. I've never been under size 14 in my life and am at a size 20 - 22 (plus size chart) at this point. I don't hate myself by any means, but I am not happy with what I see when I look in the mirror - weight wise that is. I have reached the point where how I "see" myself, is not what I'm seeing when I look in the mirror.

I have everything that I could possibly want in this life as far as family and friends and all the things that matter. I have a wonderful husband and children and a job that challenges me every day. To date, I am fortunate to be able to say that my weight poses no health issues and never has, and I want to make sure it stays that way.

The only thing I've never managed to conquer is my weight, and sooner or later, it will catch up with me health wise. It's time to do something about it and stop letting my weight limit me. I am looking forward to meeting some like-minded people.

Please don't be a stranger to my page - drop in any time and tell me a little bit about yourself.

Fitness Minutes: 80

My Goals:
To finish this part of my journey and embark on the next phase of it. I want to see what I actually look like and enjoy it from there.

Hopefully, my journey will motivate others to do the same.

My Program:
A food journal is crucial for me as it makes me accountable to myself and keeps me honest.

I take each day as it comes and try to never look back. Each setback is one more opportunity to succeed.

8 glasses of water (or more) per day makes a huge difference for me.

20 minutes of cardio activity 3 days per week minimum - 5 days maximum

I eat what I want for the most part, but cut back my portions. I'm not a sweet eater, so that's a plus.

Starches are a problem for me, so I focus more on protein and fill my plate with lots of salad and greens.

No sampling the food while cooking - a tough one for me!!

No second helpings.

I use a smaller plate and put my fork down between bites.

Personal Information:
I currently reside in Alberta, Canada where I work as a Senior Admin for a major oil company.

I have 3 grown children who love me and a husband who adores me - they are my world. To add to the mix, I have "inherited" the sweetest little grandson and he has a brother on the way in March - we are all so excited... Grampie will be in the delivery room. He has no biological children so this will be the experience of a lifetime for him - we are all very excited for him.

I love life, laughter, and cherish good friends.

God is good.

Other Information:
I love being involved in community events.

I sing, write songs, play guitar, and am currently trying my hand at writing a romance novel.

Louise...thank you so much for the comment you posted on my blog! You said, "You've made my day and have motivated me more than you know." Well, I have to say the same right back to you! You had just the right words to say to me, and I'm glad that you seemed to relate to my struggles. It's people like you who help fuel me along on this mission! I hope you don't mind if I add you as a SparkFriend!
