My Goals:
First, to weigh less than The Handsome Prince! ( I met this goal on 6/15/08)

Second, be Mindful of food and drink consumption. I tend to be in a coma when around food.


Fourth, to just KEEP GOING---I would like to weigh 145 by April 2012

I have type 2 diabetes. I want it to go away. My knees and legs are very painful. I want to reduce the stress on the knees.

My Program:
Initially I am trying to drink 8 glasses of water or more a day and stay under 1500 calories. I'm trying to follow a balanced diet this time rather than no carb/all protein.




Personal Information:
At the age of 60 I received a Bachelors Degree in Fibers at ASU. I am passionate about weaving, fabric painting/design, quilting and tapestry. I'm retired but teaching classes from time to time.

Your meals sound yummy. Just take it easy with the oil (yes even olive oil) The reason is that its a fat but you can read about it in Furhmans book (I thought you have his book)

when you feel overwhelmed just start with one new veggie at a time.

I started out trying one veggie once a week. I would look at all veggies at the store write down the names of them (didn't buy them yet) and looked up on how to fix them, cook them and found several recipes and then I would buy that one new veggie and tried it out in every thing I cooked.

I have many recipes that I have learned how to make on my blog.
