I'm a 54 yr old mother of two sons, one of whom is in heaven as of two years ago. The other is 15 and a light to my life. I teach water aerobics and elementary PE. I like to read, ride bike and play board games. Unfortunately I also love chocolate, and am trying again to stop bingeing.

My Goals:
I really want to feel good in my clothes again, so lose wt and inches.
I want to be able to enjoy sweet treats without going overboard.
I want to get better and stronger at riding my road bike.
I want to walk some more 5Ks.

My Program:
I go to and teach water aerobics 2x a week; teach elem. PE 2x a week; walk 3 miles briskly on off days, and lift wts with a partner 3x a week before water aer.
I belong to TOPS Club to keep me accountable (weighing in 1x a week) and trying hard to eat sensibly.

Personal Information:
I love where I live, and i have lived several places: CA, NV, MT, ID and UT. I love being married to my husband, who is my best friend. Our son died of brain cancer after a 3.5 yr battle at age 16. I struggle every day to keep going. Our other son helps a lot. He needs me to help him and be there for him, so I am. He's an only child now, so it's rough for him too. We have supports in place, but there's no describing the pain. We survive.

Other Information:
I play the piano medium well. Hymns mostly. I sing in a community choir that is a lot of fun. We perform several times a year.
I love classical music: Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Strauss, Bach... the old masters.
I love White's Once and Future King.
I love My Fair Lady, You've Got Mail, Sleepless and Steel Magnolias.

Hi! Thanks so much for commenting on my fibro blog. I really appreciate the info -- I want to be the best I can be, not just pop some pills! Luckily my new doc's book, called Healing Fibromyalgia, addresses similar issues. In fact, his treatment protocol includes things like myofascial release therapy and psychotherapy or the like to release old emotional traumas. And as luck would have it I've been seeing a new counselor, so at least I'm on track with that.

I see you're super new here! I'm adding you as a friend right away and I look forward to getting to know you! emoticon
