2/7/15 Oh MG! I can't believe I have let things get so out of hand! I gained almost 40 pounds. It wasn't wise to get off the SparkPeople site. I have checked in once in a while over the past months, but I have not admitted to the gain. I am now 179, but as recently as last week the scale read 184. I am now making a commitment to myself to take care of me. I must love myself enough to take charge and stop letting myself get crazy with food. This is my confession to how bad I've let it become. ...

I'm a young grandmother (I'm 54 years old) of 7, and by losing weight and strengthening my back and abs I'm once again able to carry my grandchildren. I had a few problems with my back and wasn't able to do that. In 2000 I weighed 210 pounds and got serious about losing weight. I walked and changed my eating habits and lost weight...got down to 140!
That was within a year. The first few years I stayed at 140-145. Then gradually the weight has begun to add on. I started using SparkPeople July 2, 2011 at 160 pounds.
I have been stressed over many family issues for the last year, starting in June. I have gained back weight. Thankfully not all the weight I had in 2000, but I am fearful that I won't get this under control. I have started to make slow progress now that I found myself at 166 pounds. I am not comfortable at this weight. I can't even wear my favorite rings.
I'm a Christian, and I am pretty quiet about it usually. I just figure my actions speak louder than words, but I use that as my justification for the lack of courage I have in sharing with others the convictions I have in my mind that God is the only source of my life and happiness. I have had a great three months and I took all the credit, I am ashamed to say. Sure I had to make the efforts and actively work the program I've planned for myself, but I believe my strength to do so comes from him! To God be the Glory!
I've stalled between 142 and 145. I'm not as motivated to get off the last couple of pounds since I'm feeling pretty good about myself. I like how my clothes fit. But for some reason I do keep making efforts to lose and get down to 140. I had thought 130 would be my goal, but now I don't see that as realistic.
It has been one year since I first logged into SparkPeople. I weigh 16 pounds less and am at a good weight and fitness level. I have recently been working on maintaining. I'm not having a hard time continuing to exercise, but struggle everyday to keep my calorie intake at a level to maintain my weight. Haven't quite figured out my personal formula for success. There is the factor of going through menopause this last 7 months, and I'm sure my metabolism is fighting with that! But I will fight back!

Continue on with less carbs more protein and healthy fat. Walk at least 3/wk and include a bike ride and ST during the week. My goal is to get to 144 pounds. Feel stronger and look better in photos. Also be able to fit my favorite anniversary ring back on my finger.

goal 144 lbs. To develop an attitude toward food that is healthy and normal, rather that obsessing about when I can have more, and when I can get sweets.

Walking, elliptical, recumbent cycling. and ST are my current modes of exercise. I drink at least 8 glasses of water each day. I'm doing cardio 3 days a week and ST 3 days a week. I am consistently eating 5 or more freggies a day. I'm recording food intake and also my exercise.
I've recently learned that I eat out of boredom. Keeping busy has helped me make good progress in not binge eating.
I like journaling and blog writing to record progress and focus on the ways I'm improving my life.
