Giving Aging a Fight!

One can't help getting older; the alternative would not be my choice, but I'm sick and tired of how my energy and mental clarity has dropped since I put on about 15lbs. So I need to kick my butt back into regular exercise. I've been an Atkin's afficionado for 5 years (you need to read the whole book if you expect to be able to stay on this diet and be happy), but as a typically imperfect human, I'm prone to cheating under stress.

I've got that nasty "dieter's mentality" - if I'm going to cheat, might as well do it right (which means not one cookie but half a package). I'd love to put this habit to rest once and for all.

It's been a very stressful year for me with lots of changes, most of which have not been for the good, so I'm working to turn it all around, including my plan to squeeze nicely into size 4-6 pants before Christmas, and ideally before my birthday in early November.

I want to give aging a good hard fight!

My Goals:
I think I''d like to see 120lbs again, AND stay there indefinitely.

My biggest goal is to regain the high energy level I used to have. I miss being always "on."

My Program:
I''ve been an Atkins follower for 6 years though I''m a stress eater and when I cheat, I''m very, very bad - hence the extra pounds. These days I''m trying a more liberal low carb lifestyle where I incorporate more vegetables and complex carbs to see if I can still drop weight and eat stuff I like so I might be less inclined to cheat.

I''m a former trainer of female body builders so I''m still a big fan of weight lifting and am trying to break a lazy spell of several years and start making the gym a regular commitment. When I lift, I work hard and I''m still very, very strong.

My side business gets me out and active alot so I do get to do variety of physical activities.

Personal Information:
I''m a single mom of 3 living in Austin, TX. I am job hunting these days but also own a local social and adventure club. I love to get outside and play though I can also be quite a homebody. The kids and I share our home with two weiner dogs and two kittys.

just stopped by your page to see your puppy. i have one too. i have been doing low carb for 4 years. i got lazy this year and ate everything i wanted!!!!instead of being 112 i'm 128. check out my sparkpage. Good Luck with your goals. amy

Hello. I was just browsing the site, and came across your page.
I wanted to take this oportunity to invite you to our team. It is called "OVERCOMING OBSTACLES".
It is a forum that my wife (ticklemepink-aka Carol) formed. At first, it was for people with a disabitliy,but now it's expanded to everyone..disability or no disability. As a matter of fact, more then 1/2 of the group do not have a disability.

The link is located on my sparkpage, and the main discussion room is still named "disabiltiies group".
I was noticing some successes here on your page, and that is what the forum is all about.
People post their successes in life, their personal stories, motivation to succeed, advice, and there's even a thread for jokes.

I was hoping that you will click the link, join the group, and come to post in the main room, & maybe share some of your own successes, etc..for us to all get aquainted,better. As you read some of the posts in there, you will see some amazing accomplishments, before and after joining sparkpeople.
