Me and hubby out geocaching...we have so much fun together!!
Just one week after we met...December 2003. Can't wait to get back to that weight...and beyond!!
Even with the extra weight you can tell we're thrilled to be together!!
I have 20 pics in my gallery
Well, here we are – a whole new year stretching in front of us, a blank page waiting to be written upon!! :o) There have been some mighty big changes in our lives...last year saw me getting laid off from Company A after almost 10 years. Yikes!! I was one of the lucky ones, though, because I got a new job right away at Company B. I worked there from 05 February 2007 through 02 January 2008...just under one year. Wondering where I work now...? Well, that’s the biggest ...
Well, that’s the biggest news...I started a new (dream!) job on 11 January 2008!! Yes, yes – changing jobs is big news. But the really big change involves WHERE I’m working – on 05JAN08 hubby and I waved good-bye to sunny San Diego and set sail (figuratively, in our land yacht) for Atlanta, GA!!!
There – let that sink in for a minute. :o) Yes, we really did move cross-country!! And that brings us to the second hoonjy change in Bill and Laurie’s life – we are now home OWNERS!! Woohoo!! We are just tickled pink...this is by far the biggest (and best!) investment/move we’ve ever made. We are so blessed to be doing it together!! :o)
I’m hoping to get back into my Sparkpeople routine as soon as possible...it’s been hard, though, since our whole lives have been turned upside town since I went on my interview in November!! I’m kind of thinking it might be a little “easier” to lose weight since my body’s been at this “plateau” for a while now...we’ll see. For now, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!! :o)
I sure hope God is blessing each and every one of us – the blessings are there, they’re just not always as tangible. :o)
Love & hugs!
I've been happily married for just over 3.5 years...and how did I show my happiness? By gaining 40 pounds (in addition to the 20 above my "ideal" weight...! Yikes!
We both want to get into a healthier lifestyle that we can actually maintain...tried the Negative Calorie Diet last summer and lost 5 lbs. each. In addition to being the most miserable week of our entire lives we realized afterward that we didn't really accomplish anything...we gained the weight right back. Grrr...!
Another reason to thank SparkPeople is for telling us about "geocaching" - it's become our primary hobby, we've met a lot of wonderful people - and we're getting a lot more exericise because of it!!
Anyway, I thank God for this website, it's truly changing my life!! I've been doing this for less than a month and am already seeing dramatic changes in the way I think about food and exercise, and the way I look. As the song says, "we've only just begun"!! :o)

My main reason for joining SparkPeople is to get HEALTHY. Losing weight is, of course, a huge part of that...!! However, for the first time in my life, it is not the ultimate goal. I'm 37 and, hopefully, still young enough to see the error of my ways and dodge the diabetes/overweight bullets that my parents are dealing with.
As a (relatively) newlywed, I want to spend a VERY long time with the man of my dreams - and I wanna be healthy when I do it!! :o)
I'm tracking every calorie...no matter how painful it might be to see, it goes on my nutrition tracker. And you know what?? That's a GREAT thing!! I'm working at getting in more exercise...(when I say "working" I mean I at least think about it once in a while...!).
"Baby steps" is my motto!!
This seems like a good place to record my height (or lack thereof, lol!):
I am 4'11"...the lowest adult weight I remember is 103. I think 120 is more likely to be healthy, especially with muscle in the mix...but it'll be fun to find out!! I want to be more SIZE driven than WEIGHT driven.
Wish me luck. :o)
