Lona's Dreams

I am 62 and have been a yo-yo dieter. Lose weight and re-gain and then gain more. I want and need to break this cycle. I am now diabetic and have high cholestrol and I am COPD. I want to live healthy enough to enjoy life instead of being tired all the time.

Hello and Welcome to SparkPeople!

I started Sparking in June of 2007. By using Spark and some self discovery along the way, I'm down 50 pounds, and am holding steady at a healthy weight. Spark is a massive site, you'll be discovering new and exciting things for months to come!
* Diet is a dirty word. Every time I hear it, I wash my mouth out with chocolate! emoticon emoticon

Baby steps are fine because you have made a start and the leg will be stronger as you do more. emoticon

Well, I was doing some chair excercises because my leg hurt me too much to stand up and do anything, when the phone rang. I didn't get back on the computer after that. Only finished about 5 minutes of the 11 minute work out. better than nothing but not by much. today, I am going to finish it (The whole 11 minutes not just the 6 I missed! LOL). Up to 2 glasses of water yesterday. Goal today is 3. Baby steps are better than no steps. Didn't get this way overnight, not going to get over it over night. emoticon

Thank you everyone for all your sparkmail. It made me feel very welcome. I hope as I learn to utilize all aspects of this site, that I can do the same for others. One note however; I personally did not have cancer. I am my mother's caretaker. It' been a long 2 year journey with her, but I am pleased to say that she has been in remission for 7 months now. Praise God.
