The Non-Magical, Non-Mystery Tour

Bear with me, I'm sort of a goofball, and as you will learn shortly, EXCESSIVELY VERBOSE.

I plan to start by losing around 120 pounds; I'll decide on a final goal once I get down there and see what the landscape is like (it's been a while!)

I lost 30 pounds on Weight Watchers in 2009, but then stress & life intervened and I gained it back, plus a little extra.

So here I am. Uh... hi!

I blog a bit here and there, as I have thoughts. ...

I blog a bit here and there, as I have thoughts. Anything that shows up is likely to be long (VERBOSE!) so if you do want to read it, you might want to grab a cup of coffee.

(I must give credit where credit is due: my page title comes from a blog by Linda Holmes, who is awesome and a better writer than I'll ever hope to be. My avatar is my version of what I would look like if the ever excellent Natalie Dee consented to draw my portrait.)

My Program:
Tracking, using data to make changes.

I continuously need to work on getting enough protein, keeping carbs down, and watch fat and junky food on busy days.

Fitness - burn at least 800 calories a week, some combination of running & walking.

Mostly my plan is to not do anything I would hate to do "forever." So I don't plan to work out 7 days a week or give up any particular kind of food or anything like that.

Personal Information:
I live in The Jerz; bought a house 7/2013! I love my freakin house.

Married; no kids. But probably will think about having some within the next 5 years, so I'd like to get as much as possible weight off before then.

Other Information:
Lifelong dream realized 11/9/2013:

I adopted my very own smooshy little rescue dog!!

DOGGGGG! My life is complete, finally.

You are soooo smart to try something new and see what the results are.

I know ith myself, when I initially was doing my weight loss regimine before my pregnancy, I wasn't taking 30 extra seconds to use my measuring cups or spoons, but I saw better results when I did.

I also bought a super inexpesive food scale from walmart, and again, it takes less than 30 second to weigh out my food. Things like nuts that are very calorie (but good for you)

I love almonds, but 1 ounce is like 120 calories or something (I'll have to look) if I eye balled it and accidentally took 1.5 ounces, it would be 180 calories instead.
or cereal, one of my cereals has 110 calories- for 3/4 cups, well before I meaured it out, I was probably using 1.5 cups, so I was eating 220 instead of 110. Those things add up.

same with dressings, 1 tablespoon of my lower calorie fat free dressing is 50 calories, well if I just "pour it out" that would be 2 tablespoons or more.

Good luck, please let me know what your results are.

Lisa

I look forward to the day when robots help us snooze. On second thought, I'm not sure I trust them to wake us up.

Thanks so much for reading my vent on that blog, and leaving a supportive comment.

I have made a concious choice to switch my attitude around today- and took the crabby pants off. Things are not perfect, but I am just choosing to focus on the positive.

I hope you continue to have a great week, I enjoyed your latest blog!
Lisa

P.S. I was re-reading your SparkPage, are you and your husband still thinking of starting a family? That can be part of your motivation because being closer to healthy weight range increases our fertility.
