I'm a survivor!
Hi team,
My name is Lorraine. My little sister introduced me to Sparkpeople to try and motivate me. I recently turned 40 years old. Not only do I have a weight issue but about one year and a half ago I was diagnosed with Leukemia. I'm winning the battle with cancer. Now I want to win the battle of the bulge. Looking forward to hearing from you!

My Goals:
My ultimate goal is to lose enough weight to feel healthy and energetic. To no longer be on blood pressure medication. I want to be able to do a multitude of activities with my kids which I can't do at the moment because of my health.
My Program:
I'm trying to eat smaller, healthier meal portions. I'm drinking less sugary juices/drinks and more water. (It's so hard since I love juice!)
Right now I'm exercising sporadically but I'd like to have a more regular routine. Exercises include: walking, exercise dvd's, dancing and now Wii fit. I eventually want to return to the gym. For some reason I find that I work much harder when I am at the gym.

I'm 41 yrs old and a single mother of 2 beautiful daughters. I love the game of basketball - watching, playing or coaching. I've got 2 sisters on Spark (PRIN1978 AND ALIAHC) - check out their pages.

I'm a Canadian. Born and raised in Quebec to Jamaican parents. Looking for Spark friends to help inspire and motivate me and to perhaps be an inspiration to others out there!
