Welcome to my page -read on-I hope I will inspire you to continue with your healthy journey..

Wow I just reread my page here and what I want to do.
Well I have been on Sparks for 5 years -before my grandson was born..
I still have not gotten to my goal weight. Why? It is not because Sparks isn't a great help -- the site the coaches the people --all helpful.
It is because I have lacked the one thing we all need to make this journey successful. It is the fire within that YOU want to do this for you. That is me..
It has all not been wasted 5 years. I have learned ...
Wow I just reread my page here and what I want to do.

It has all not been wasted 5 years. I have learned how to eat healthy how to exercise .. I have learned what I need to do to be healthy and lose weight ..
Now I have lost 10 lbs. and kept that off. I have also made many friends and even got to meet up with some of them .. so special.
What do I do now ? Well I have not changed my goal or lowered my expectations.. I still believe and can get down to a size I will be comfortable with ..
I am going to commit myself to do this for me and only me.
This is what I want -no one else ..
My hip to waist ratio is high --in the danger zone so this will be what I focus on now.
I will read up on this and do what it takes to get this number lowered, so I know I will also achieve a smaller me ..

Hope you all will follow along with me and give me a nudge if need be ..

My Program:
watching my calorie intake -eating only heart healthy foods no fast foods and no fried foods.

exercising 45 min to 60 min a day- strength train 15 min. everyday but a different part of the body..

drink more water-minimum of 8 glasses per day.

not restrict myself to living .. and enjoying life!

I have -a son and daughter-in-law

first grand son was born March 21/09 named Markus!

first grand daughter was born August 12/12 named Amelia!

I live with the kids-helping them while they are at work by babysitting the grandkids

I am retired

-love hunting fishing camping & traveling

Other Information:
I have Rheumatoid Arthritis &- Fibromyalgia but I will not let these things stop me from being as active as I can and to get as healthy as I can!

Jo, where is there a Y near you? I checked out the Bob Hayward on Hamilton Road, east of Highbury, about a year or so ago, but their pool made me feel really claustrophobic.

There are no windows at all in the pool area, so maybe that was what bothered me. The rest of the facility has been updated and seemed really nice. The pool is what I would like to use though.

Panda does not like the water. There were about 6 people in swimming. Not too cold but not warm enough for me.

I have to remember to fuel my body. Get off my butt and move , two reasons that are likely causing weight gain

That surprised me Jo - I would have thought that liver is something that would be pushed at you. It's not one of my favourites, but I do like it now and again.

I miss grapefruit too. I used to eat it all the time - just peeled it like an orange and ate it that way. Now I just treat myself to it once in a while.

All these ' getting old ' health issues really stink, don't they!

Tomorrow is supposed to brutally hot and humid - stay cool!
