Since the beginning of 2008 my dh & I have been working on making better life choices. This includes what we eat, what we do with our time, and who we spend time with. We've discovered many things in life are not healthy - including food, habits and even some relationships. It's a slow process but at least we are headed in the right direction! I'm so thankful we are doing this together! It's a team effort!

My Goals:
I've lost weight in the past, only to get careless and regain. This time is for real! This is for life. I am approaching 50 yrs old and working hard to get in shape!

My Program:
In Feb 2012 I started the C25K program and ran my first 5k at the end of April. Since then I've been learning all I can about running and working to improve. I love it and what it's doing for me! I run 3-4 times a week and do strength training on the alternate days.

I am a little OCD when it comes to logging my food...can't miss a day! Diligently staying in my calorie range.

Personal Information:
Born & raised in MN but now living in Colorado with my husband. We have 2 grown sons.

I work as an admin assistant for a non-profit. I know my desk job has not helped my weight issue. Part of my job is providing lunches & snacks for training events. Being around all the food & treats is a constant battle for me.

Other Information:
I love animals, horses, dogs, cats, rats...you name it. I'm much more comfortable around animals than people. :)

For fun I like to read on my Kindle, go walking, & surfing online.

Thanks for reporting back on the HRM. I really should try mine out, but the truth is that I barely use my Garmin - only for longer races most of the time. It is a Forerunner 305 that I got used off of Amazon for $110.

I'm using the same calorie range as you ... and when I track, I tend to stay at the low end. Just put in my Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie for breakfast, and see that it is over 500 ... but lunch will be an apple and a 90 calorie granola bar, so I'll be OK. The smoothie is REALLY filling, so I may cut down on quantity next time. Let's keep each other accountable!! This morning I saw the lowest number on the scale in a while, but it's still 3-4 above where it should be. And I can tell by the roll around my waist! Gotta get it off!!

I started tracking food again this morning ... am just NOT getting the extra pounds off. UGH. Hate to admit I did well for YEARS and then slipped backwards ... but 'tis true.

I'm NOT excited about another cold/snowy snap -- hope it is VERY short-lived. Rain would be OK. But a walk at lunch today sounds wise. I didn't get any intentional fitness minutes in the last 3 days with the grandkids here.

Have a great week! How much do you think you need to adjust your calorie range? You are SO close to goal!!

thanks for stopping by Lois!

I think I need to super size this quote to poster size and then put it in my cubicle! That way I see it when I walk in emoticon
