Still struggling for any type of consistency in my weight!

I've lost weight in the past through Weigh Down Workshop, then gained it back again when I stopped following those principles.

Then we started Spark People-I was tracking every calorie and eating right - and was able to loose most of the weight again. Until I started getting careless and letting the calories creep back up, eating what I wanted, when I wanted, and of course - the results are predictable.

Then a couple years ago I took up running/walking and again lost weight. This was the best I've ever felt because I was getting fit physically not just losing weight. I've never, ever in my life had a regular exercise that I enjoyed - but my morning runs were actually a part of my routine - for over a year! ...Until life got in the way and I let it slip...all the way back to eating carelessly and no exercise. So of course, back come the pounds. (SIGH)

I refuse to go out and buy bigger pants because my old ones are tight on me. I hate the way I look and feel! I'm tired all the time, no energy and choose to drown my apathy in junk food. What am I doing?!

I'm back here on SP to start to get control again...hopefully for the last time. I have started tracking my food again, plan to start my morning routine of walk/running again - tomorrow morning, and working through the Made to Crave study. I don't want to go another day in this rut!

My Goals:
I've lost weight in the past, only to get careless and regain. This is for life. I am in my 50's yrs and working hard to get in better shape!

My Program:
In Feb 2012 I started the C25K program and ran my first 5k at the end of April. Since then I've been learning all I can about running and working to improve. I love it and what it's doing for me! I run 3-4 times a week and do strength training on the alternate days.

UPDATE: It's now late 2015 and I've been off track way too long! Back to business starting today!

Personal Information:
Born & raised in MN but now living in Colorado with my husband. We have 2 grown sons.

I work as an admin assistant for a non-profit. I know my desk job has not helped my weight issue. Part of my job is providing lunches & snacks for training events. Being around all the food & treats is a constant battle for me.

Other Information:
I love animals, horses, dogs, cats...you name it. I'm much more comfortable around animals than people. :)

For fun I like to read, watch movies, go walking & exploring, & surfing online.

Hi - we've had a working cooktop and toaster oven all summer but yeah, long time to go without a real oven. Looking forward to being able to bake something larger than a shoe! Hope you're having a great fall!

Lois,
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I see from your page you have done the C25K. You should definitely sign up for a race. There is so much energy from being part of the group. Good luck!
