The Journey to the Best Me Possible

I AM FIFTY - and I feel GREAT!!! Finding Spark has been one of the most wonderful blessings of my life. Since starting SparkPeople, I have lost 43 lbs. and have commenced a journey to become the best me I can possibly be. I am taking better care of my health, exercising and running, continuing to eat healthy and maintain my weight loss. I am also learning to practice the same principles that helped me reach my goal weight to achieve goals in other areas of my life; ie., financially, professionally and with organization and time management. I am just beginning to comprehend how vast my options in life are and what I can do to achieve my dreams while maintaining a balance in my day to day life. I am becoming happier, more content and self assured as life goes on and I intend to keep Spreading the Spark.

I can hardly believe I've been Sparking for three years now! Still, I learn something new everyday. Sometimes I think it was easier losing the weight than it is keeping it off, but the rewards are so worth it. My goal this year is to get back of the few pounds that I have gained back and to get more consistently active. I am also planning to then start school and get my certification as a personal trainer and continue on from there to become a physical therapist. It is amazing how many areas of my life that have been Sparked by this program. Eager to find out what new roads it is going to lead me down!

My Goals:
Lose some weight and tone to look and feel better, Learn to cook tasty and healthy to help in keeping it off. Get more fit and trim. Run a 5K by fall of '10. Get my lifes priorities more in line with my lifes goals and set up my need to do's based on my priorities.

My Program:
CONTINUING TO SET GOALS-YEAR TWO
During my first year on Spark I was able to achieve all the goals that I set for myself above, and then some.
My journey isn't over now, I want to keep the weight off and increase my fitness, strength, endurance and stamina. For 2011, I want to run at least one 5K, one 10K, on half-marathon (and hopefully two) and lose 3-5% points of body fat.
My program includes continuing to eat a healthy diet, getting 7-8 hours sleep every night, getting up without hitting the snooze and getting in at least 30 minutes of fitness everyday.

Personal Information:
1/2/2010 Starting weight 177 lbs.

5/22/2010 Spark Goal Weight (146) Met @ 145.5 lbs.

6/27/2010 Personal Goal Weight Met 139 lbs.

Thank you for the encouragement and the Goodie also. I was a bit worried about getting too excited with this weight loss and then slacking of or getting discouraged when it slows way down. I would like to run again... some day so I will keep making goals! emoticon one step at a time. thanks, Bri

Thanks for thinking about my podiatrist appointment. I got the all clear to start running again. I hope you are recovering nicely!
