Two steps forward, one step back

I am a 52 year-old lawyer with a twenty year-old daughter who goes to college over a thousand miles away. I have two step-sons, one 23 and one 26. They live on their own but are still somewhat financially dependent on my husband and me. I joined Sparkspeople in August 2006, but continue to struggle with my love of sweets and my tendency to overeat when stressed or bored. I love to bike outside, spin, and hike. I used to love to run but injuries have prevented it for almost two years.

That is very true. And we would never even THINK of talk to someone else they way we speak to ourselves. I know I wouldn't. We are usually our own worst eney but changing that inner dialogue can be the biggest challenge we have, can't it?

Thanks for your comment on my blog today. I actually got some numbers for home health aides from the home health nurse today. I'm praying that our insurance will cover it, at least partially, as we surely can't afford another expense right now!

Not much weight loss progress on my end... Ever since I hurt my shoulder I've had to curtail my strength training, can't do the elliptical, can't do the walking DVD's I was doing (5 mile walk -- with 12 minute miles with arm exercises) SO it's NOT "pretty"... I've been walking outside when the weather cooperates but if I try to walk too vigorously my shoulder hurts so.... Remind you of anything...???!!! LOL... Frustrating but at this point, not much I can do... Just trying to log my food and walk when I can...
