BELIEVE, THE SPIRIT OF LIFE CANNOT FAIL. . .I am creating my own destiny

"Whatever you can conceive and believe you can achieve." Norman Vincent Peale "Nothing can happen for you in the outside world until you create the energy to attract it to and through your inside world." I. Vanzant "The mighty oak was once a little nut that stood its ground" Unknown "No one can make you feel inferior without your permission" Eleanor Roosevelt "Knowing is not enough. Willing is not enough, We Must Do." Johann Wolfgang vanGoethe Hi, my name is Laura and thanks for taking time to stop by to read and share experiences. I am a poster child for diets gone really bad. Weight issues existed but never did it get so out of control until I began to feed emotions (sad, happy, bored stressed, insecure etc). This food addiction/emotional eating was a gradual thing (past 15 years) that one day showed up on my body as fat for a total of about 265 pounds. I tried millions of diets without success thinking I would lose it overnight. I didn't lose a single pound or inches- I just kept gaining and the cycle continued. In the back of my mind I guess I always knew that there are no quick fixes, no magic pill, diet plans, special food that I can use to make me lose weight or have a healthy lifestyle. I simply improved the diet industry's bottom line. I was in denial and forgot that I could accomplish my goals with a little planning, a lot of determination and consistency. Sounds simple enough but. . .I still wandered in the diet wilderness without much success. The other insight I lacked was that I was going to have to change my internal and external thinking. My daughters are healthy eaters and exercise on a regular basis. They are my motivators and primary cheerleaders. They challenged me with an exercise program until I began SP. My primary challenge was to be out of the obese range and the goal was reached. I continue my journey to reach a healthy weight where my soul can shine through without too much obstruction. Prior to SP I lost 55 pounds and I plan to lose the next 50 with nutrition and exercise . I love the SP articles, motivation and people. I quit smoking last year and exercise regularly -6 days a week and yoga once a week. My oldest daughter introduced me to cycling and I am happy to report that I found a new addiction with positive consequences. My youngest daughter intoduced me to yoga and I continue to add on exercises from this base to make it fun. A lifestyle change is a gradual long term commitment for life long results and I am worth it. I feel better and have more energy. My lifestyle changes make a difference in my external and internal life. I am grateful to all the wonderful people who inspire, motivate, and challenge me. I am grateful for all the personal support provided in all the SP forums and friends. Never, never give up beause we can't fail. We may stumble and fall but we can get up that is part of life and the journey. We can do whatever we set out to do with our lives as long as we believe in ourselves and not fear the strength that we possess. In the past I doubted myself and became a prisoner to fear. Be fearless!!!! "Imagination is more important than knowledge; Knowledge is limited. Imagination encirles the world." Albert Einstein "We are all born for love. It is the principle of existence, and its only end." Benjamin Diraeli "It is not death that a man should fear but he should fear never beginning to live."
