Getting Started....Again

So, I'm getting started on a healthier lifestyle, again. I want this time to be the last. I am a nursing student starting my 12th week of the program and the stress has been unbelievable. Along with the 11 weeks of intense stress and crazy studying has come 10 pounds. This can't continue so I'm taking control today. We'll see how it goes!

My Goals:
To lose the weight I gained (+10lbs) the last three semesters in nursing school by graduation - May 13, 2010.

Work out 4-6 days every week and get up to running 5 miles by the end of May.

My Program:
Right now, I am eating "healthy." It's really hard with clinicals and school to eat regularly so I try to get in three good meals, and make my snacks high protein so I feel full longer. Sometimes its a really long time between meals. Also, I am trying not to eat after 7pm. I am hiking and trail running 4-6 days a week - I love the AZ weather right now and am trying to take advantage of it.

Personal Information:
I have liven in AZ my whole life. I love the winter here - the mild temps allow great outdoor activities. I am getting pretty sick of the HOT HOT HOT summers!

Other Information:
I can't wait to finish nursing school. I will be graduating from the Scottsdale Healthcare and Scottsdale Community College Accelerated Partnership program May 2010. If I can do nursing school ANYTHING is possible!

Thanks for the encouraging words and glad to hear you're making some progress! For me it has been rather slow going partly because I am not losing as fast as I would if I stopped with the kettlebells and other resistance training exercises. I will be sure to say hello to Harmony for you!

YEAH!!!!! I'm so proud of you :) Welcome to Spark people. It's the best step you can make in your weight loss journey. Let me know if you want some help showing you around. I see you've joined a couple groups. They will be your #1 line of defense. Start jumping on the different forums and meet some folks. They will help you stay on track and remain focused. I'll help you too :)

Welcome to you!! You'll really like Spark People. I've gone from 237 to where you are right now, but I'm going back and forth between 211 and 213, depends on if I exercise or not. I'm a fellow native and work for Mayo Clinic Arizona in transcription. Best of luck to you in school, I know it's stressful!
