Linda's Long Journey to Healthy Living

Hi Everyone! This is my sparkpage to detail my journey from unhealthy living to living healthy. I'm 50 year's old and in July, 2008, I realized I was a mess. I weighed in at 168 and had never been so heavy in all my life. Today, I'm down to 149 and I have decided to set small goals. My first goal is to balance my hormones. After years of putting off joining a gym, I came to the realization I needed help. I joined AAP Fitness, in Tampa and started on my journey to health and exercise.

My Goals:
My first goal is to balance my hormones.

My next goal is to enjoy working out 5 out of 7 days a week.

Followed by my first weight goal of 145, then 140, 135....you get the idea.

My Program:
To meet my first goal, I am working with Dzugan Method to balance my hormones. I'm using bio-identical hormones and will blog about that journey.

To meet my weight goals, I joined AAP Fitness and stayed with them for two years. I was working with their excellent trainers three times a week. Now, I'm doing things on my own. Like the Biggest Loser, you have to learn to take responsibility for your own health and that is what I'm doing.

I am also building my own home gym. I have a treadmill that I actually use! Three medicine balls 8, 10 and 12 pounds, a stability ball and my personal favorite the Bosu Balance trainer. My wonderful husband, Warren, bought me the Bowflex 552 weights that are helping me with strength training.

Personal Information:
I'm originally from Washington, D.C., but now reside in sunny Tampa, Florida with my husband, Warren.




Other Information:
I love to read all of Suzanne Somers books on bio-identical hormones. I think she is great and has inspired me to take my health seriously and find a doctor who is equally in tune to bio-identical hormone therapy.
