I'm a mid-30's new mother who wants to regain some of that youthful vigor I had back before the sit-at-a-computer desk job and the boy who sleeps on his own inconvenient schedule. I also have three cats and a loving husband who'd prefer to keep ordering pizza every week if he could get away with it.

My Goals:
* I'd really like to drop down to a healthier weight.

* I want to re-learn my eating style.

* I want to have a more active lifestyle.

* I want to enjoy life more and life longer for my family.

My Program:
I'm following the exercises I get from the site as well as I can. I do lots of stroller walking in our very hilly area. I would ideally follow the diet offered, but I haven't yet figured out how to do that, so I just track my intake. So far, just that action has really made a difference in my eating habits.

Personal Information:
I'm from Madison, WI. (West-siders, represent!) I've only lived here since 2005, but I feel at home. I look forward to kicking out Gov. Walker, who has put a big, black stain on my beautiful city.

Other Information:
Ah, maybe I'll fill this in more sometime. Briefly, you might be interested to know that I'm a liberal Christian, and I attend Lake Edge UCC. I also analyze DNA for a local medical school project and manage the lab.

Just dropping by to say "Hi!" emoticon You said you are a member of the Lake Edge UCC. I was raised in the Congregational Church which became part of the United Church of Christ. Is that what UCC stands for?

Hi! I'm new to Church Musicians team , also. Welcome. I see you are from Madison. I've always loved that city. My mother was raised there and I spent a month there every summer while growing up. On the East side, however. Granma's house was within walking distance of two beaches and my aunt& uncle lived a half block from another. The square was the most beautiful in the country. Is it still? I haven't been back there in over twenty years.

Hi, welcome to Sparkpeople..I hope you enjoy this website as much as I do. I have gotten so much out of it. I have met some wonderful folks on this website.
The website can feel a bit overwhelming at first, but don't give up.(All the advertising can feel distracting, but it keeps the website free for all of us. Just ignore it if you want.) Explore a little at a time.
Scroll through other member pages, if you see anyone you would like to have as a spark friend, just click the little button at the top and that will add them to your friend list.
If you are confused, ask questions on the Messages Boards, under the Get Help section.
You might want to join a few teams that interest you and check their message boards daily. Scroll through other Sparkpeople’s pages to see what teams they joined. You can always withdraw from the team if you find it really doesn't interest you. It can take a little bit of time to get used to the website.
Under the Message Boards tab, check out Sparkpeople Café and the Sparkpeople Game Room. There are a lot of fun running posts on these message boards.
Check your Sparkpoint page and see where you can earn more points. It’s fun to use the points to buy and give the ‘goodies’ to yourself or to other sparkpeople.
Be kind to yourself. Take it one day at a time. Expect set backs and just ride them out. Don't compare yourself to others, you are unique and an individual. Have some fun with this new journey you are on, don’t beat yourself up. We all fall down.We all need help sometimes to get back up.
Don’t ever give up, instead, reach out. That is what we are all here for.
It gets better, one day at a time. I think of daily food control like a book. One page (day) is not very thick, hardly seems worth the effort, but when you close the book the thickness of all the pages (days) together really have an impact. It is up to you to decide if the story is a good one.
You are going to fly. Just spread those wings and start flapping! emoticon
