I have tried multiple times to lose weight, and change the way I live my life, but nothing has seemed to last. I am learning the reasons why that is...
A. Because I want fast results.
B. Because I can't seem to maintain the lifestyle to create those drastic changes.
C. I get discouraged and quit.
So now, I've decided to go the slow route. In the end, the slow one wins the race. Right? That's what I'm hoping for...
With the help of Sparkpeople, I believe that I will be successful in achieving my goals because it truly is a tool that is created to make lifestyle changes.
My short term goal - is to lose 1lb each week until I have reached...
My long term goal - Reach 140 lbs
I'd also like to look great in a bikini and have muscle definition, not body-building muscular...just fit.

My short terms goals:
- Use the Sparkpeople food Nutrition Tracker each day to record calories and daily nutrients
My short term goal:
- Lose 1 lb/wk
-Continuously educate myself on becoming healthier and coming up with my own definition of a healthy life!
My long term goals:
- Run a 5k (Tenatively planning to do the Rugged Maniac in Sept 2012...it's more than just running, but I thought it looked like fun :-)
- Lose 30 lbs.
I will use the Sparkpeople nutrition and fitness tracker to help me reach my daily short term goals that will help me reach my long term goal.
I plan to do strength training 2 days/wk as well as cardio 3 days/wk. My caloric goal each day is about 1,500 calories.
I will also keep track of water intake and write in a daily journal weekly.
These goals are subject to change as my lifestyle changes.
I have lived in MN all my life. I love to read about health and nutrition, although my current day-to-day choices wouldn't necessarily represent that right now. I love to spend time with my family and friends in my free time. Looking forward to creating a better me!

Today is the unofficial "take happiness into your own hands" day. It's unofficial because I just made it up! (*grin*) But it seems like a great idea, right? It's JUNE! Where has the time gone?
Please forgive the blanket letter but there were too many people to thank and simply not enough time to write personal notes to everyone...
Thank you so much for your support and friendship. I am happy to say that I am pretty much back up and running full steam and only have a couple more hurdles to jump to finally put this cancer battle behind me. Now I can look forward to concentrating on my original goals again and come the fall will (fingers crossed) be well on my way to being heathy and happy.
Coincidentally, this Friday, June 8th, is Best Friends Day. So for all those in your life that you are thankful for, please take a moment to reach out, give a hug and share a smile. Where would our lives be without the amazing support and friendship from someone like you?
