LOVE being a mom... just don't want to look like one!
I LOVE being a mom, but am not too pleased with what happened to my body after having a child every other year (2001, 2003, 2005). I joined Spark because I wanted to get fit and be a good role model for my kids, never see #s like 220 on the scale again, and just plain feel good about myself! I had always been a little on the chunky side, but after gaining over 60 pounds with each of my pregnancies I was downright fat. I finally admitted it and it was the best present I could have ...

I joined Spark because I wanted to get fit and be a good role model for my kids, never see #s like 220 on the scale again, and just plain feel good about myself! I had always been a little on the chunky side, but after gaining over 60 pounds with each of my pregnancies I was downright fat. I finally admitted it and it was the best present I could have given myself. The realization came that it wasn't just going to go away, so I laced up my sneakers and RAN! With the help of Spark I lost all the weight and more and felt awesome. I am now in better shape than I was in highschool! It's tough fitting in exercise with 3 young kids. It is my biggest challenge, but when I'm committed I MAKE IT WORK. Words to live by :D now whip it into shape shape it up get straight go forward move ahead try to detect it it's not too late to whip it whip it good ~Devo

My Goals:
*Keep the weight off! Genetically speaking: my body wants to be FAT! *Be consistent *I want to get comfortable in my own skin and feel confident with my body *Run a marathon *Be a good example to my kids
My Program:
*I cook 99% of our family's meals and always go with whole grains and as much fresh stuff as I can. *I have started milling our own flour. It is awesome! *I try to run 3-4 miles a day; *I "just say no" to soda! *TRY to get in strength training a couple days a week (not my favorite) *I've started doing Turbo Jam for my indoor option. *I've started a photo blog here on spark to keep tabs on myself.
