Shared Food & Fitness Trackers
This is my second go-round with Spark People. Just got totallly overwhelmed last time trying to do too much here with too too much going on with life. But I gained SOOO much since last summer that I know I need the accountability this site gives me.
So I'm not going to try to be posting, responding, and doing all the Spark People activities. Will do what I can, when I can - so if you contact me and I don't reply, its not about you, but about budgeting my time.
The fitness and nutrition trackers, and this blog are my accountability; and I desperately need them! In October of 2009 my SO and I are hosting a major event with our car club here in AZ and have about 400 members joining us. Last thing I want to see in photos of this event - all over the internet, in the club publications, is a blimpo rolling about!!
I"m months away from turning 60, have some Osteoarthritis, and some nerve issues with Bells Palsy, Morton's Neuroma, and other similar problems in parts of my body. Escess weight is not doing me any favors!
So I will mumble, whine, and pant my way thru this blog as I get back into an exercise program, eating program, and deal with my issues.
ANd I know thru all that, there will be Spark People cheering me on and giving me the appropriate Kick In The Butt when I need it. So thanks in advance!

Maintain my health
First - join Spark People
Second - start following a proper nutrition plan and exercise program
Third - start budgeting personal time, for keeping track of my program, meditation, and most of all, FRIENDS!

Thanks for your comments on my spark page, oddly enough corn is my favourite grain as well, however, it not only has starches that wreck havoc with blood sugars, it also has gluten, so my suggestion is to try all grain free for 4 weeks and see if there is a difference. Its always trial and error with eating patterns - some take longer then others -

Hi! Saw your post on the new-to-me foods thread, and I wanted to give you a tip about kale. If you want to put it into a raw salad, try massaging it. Really! After a while, you'll see it start to break down a bit. I don't know if it's necessary or not, but a bit of vinegar/lemon juice seems to help too. Good luck!

Thanks for taking the time to come by and lend a word of support. It must have worked as I had a great day today. I gained 3 lbs over the holidays and was really surprised it wasnt more. I then kicked butt on the bike and some walking and my knees are still fairly sound. Hope that will be true tomorrow too...only time will thell. Hope your holidays were wonderful too!

LOL, this is an awful season to try to lose but especially when Im unable to exercise like I would like, but am doing what I can to be mindful about what Im eating and hoping for some restraint. Hope you have a good holiday though.
