Taken for our 60th wedding anniversary over 4 years ago after reaching goal
It's been too long and I need help getting back on track! I'm not sure how much I have gained since I haven't weighed since before Thanksgiving.
No excuses since whatever the circumstances, I am responsible for the results.
I'm thankful I am still in relatively good health, especially for being 84 years old! Able to still walk the Y track several days a week, albeit slower, due to carrying around more weight.
Yes, I will weigh soon and then begin to set some goals, read The Spark again, check in with SparkPeople friends and hope that some of you here will also help my progress along.
If confession is good for the soul, then I should be feeling better now.
Just to let you all know I am back home again at Spark People. I have restarted with a new goal and a new beginning. You all were so encouraging and inspiring to me before that I feel comfortable coming back to my former and I hope new friends.
I am re-reading The Spark, chapter by chapter, whereas before I skimmed over many pages to get to the ones I thought more exciting. The diet. But guess what? I missed perhaps the most important "stuff" which is the basis of true healthy living...the spark I really needed!
We are all here for each another, and to accomplish our goals of healthy living in every way. It may take me a little time to get on a firm footing. Bear with me.
BTW, DH and I will celebrate our 67th year together in October. God is so good.
I'm back home from my 65th wedding anniversary cruise (Oct. 2011) and having had memorable Thanksgiving festivities with my family and friends. AWESOME ALL! I enjoyed every precious moment of it!
Even though I must now report that I am 8 pounds over my SP goal which I reached on 6/22/2011. I've already started doing all the things I did to get to where I was before. YAY!
I have you all, my SP friends, to help me do it. I'm thankful for all of you being here for me and especially for having all the SparkPeople tools at my disposal.
I'm leaving my goal ticker where it is for now, and will be back there sooner rather than later!
To take off the 8 pounds gained on my trip and holidays. I am still relatively healthy and striving to live a long, healthy life as in Psalm 91:16.
Presently I am attending a local support group and tracking my nutrition, staying within my calorie range the majority of the time. and my fitness.
I work out at the Y almost daily, weather permitting...two days kettlebells, (60 min.) and 2/3 days Zumba , alternating with water aerobics (60min) and walking with DH at the Y track.
I religiously track my nutrition (even when over) and my fitness every day, and blog when the spirit moves me. (5/17/2011)
We, my DH and I retired to Hot Springs, AR from Oklahoma City about 18 years ago...lots to do. We love it here and enjoy it when visitors come and we take them to see the sights.
I lost over 60 pounds about 5 years ago on a specialized diet and have kept off 50 pounds, yo-yoing up and down during that time.
I have stopped that nonsense and am getting it all off again. It's slower this time, but I'm impressed with SparkPeople with all it's helps and support and believe it will help me accomplish my goals and beyond.
UPDATE: I'm committed and serious about succeeding at my weight loss and health goals. And continuing on
into maintenance doing the same things I'm doing to reach my goals. (5/17/2011)
Goal reached on 6/22/2011
We are planning a cruise (our first) to the Panama Canal with life-long friends later this year to celebrate our 65th, and I plan to wow my friends and enjoy it to the fullest.
