Well, since summer vacation I have had a hard time climbing back on the wagon. Yes, I have gained weight. No, I have not given up! Tomorrow I am starting over....again! I know I've come a long way but I am still so far away from my goal and I really want this! I've done it before and I will do it again!

HERE I GO!!!




I've not always been a fat chick! I wasn't always skinny either...but I was happy. I weighed 168 lbs when I found out I was pregnant with my first child. Since then, almost 16 years ago and 4 pregnancies, I've put on an extra 142 pounds...almost DOUBLED myself! I guess I was just so focused on taking care of my family and forgot about me.

On December 17, 2008 my husband and I were on the couch, watching t.v. and the conversation started up about weight and us both being overweight. We talked about how we really need to lose weight and get healthy...for us and for our children. It was that day that we made a bet of who could lose the first 100 pounds. If we don't lose 100 pounds then we'll see who can lose the most by Dec. 17, 2009...a year later. I'm now 36 pounds closer to winning that bet. Dec. 19 is my birthday and I'm gonna' look hot for that special day!! LOL

A hundred pounds in a year...I know some are probably saying that is impossible but it's not at all. I have been eating healthy and exercising my butt off (literally) and I get tremendous support and encouragement from my SparkBuddies...it's helped me to lose the first 30 pounds in 10 weeks. So it's totally possible!
My overall goal is to get down to 180 pounds. That's a 130 pound loss and with my frame and height that will be just perfect! I can't wait to reach that goal and I can't believe it's actually happening!! WOOHOO!!!



Wow! The weight is actually coming off! The only thing I'm doing is eating healthy (and staying within my ranges) and exercising every day! I wish I knew it would be this easy a long time ago. Of course my Spark Team is amazing. They've been keeping me going. They don't ever let me give up. I love you Spark WV!!!

I've finally found what works best for me and my body. The best exercise for me is walking! That's right, just getting in a mile or two (at least) of walking per day is making the weight come off! I have found that I lose more weight per week by just walking (usually with WATP) than I do if I do other exercises. I make sure to get my strength training in a couple times a week as well.
Now, with my food intake...I have gotten to the point where certain foods, like ground beef, make me sick to even think about them. I guess that's a good thing. If I want a burger I make it a veggie burger. My taste for things have changed dramatically. I find myself craving more veggies and fruits. I hardly ever have sweets anymore. I don't eat candy bars. I do have some frozen yogurt maybe once or twice a month. I've had no soda/pop in several months...not even diet. I don't miss it at all. My water intake is anywhere from 8 - 20 cups a day. I no longer want to eat "late night snacks". I try not to eat after 6 pm but we sometimes have dinner around 6:30 or 7pm , when my husband has to work late. We always eat dinner together as a family.

Considering that I use to be a major emotional eater and all the crazy things that are going on in my life at the moment, I think I'm doing pretty darn awesome!!
Yes, I'm bragging! I deserve to be able to brag a little about my accomplishments, right?

My Goals:
Longterm: To lose 130 pounds and gain better health. I want to be able to play with my children without having to "take a break". I want them, as well as my husband, to be proud of me and not ashamed.

GOAL: Lose 10 lbs (at least) per month until I reach my overall goal weight


My Program:
*Giving up pop
*Drinking AT LEAST 8 cups of water daily
*Walking AT LEAST 10 minutes daily
*Other exercise at least 120 minutes weekly
*Eating healthier
*Be kinder to myself*

Exercise routine includes: Turbo Jam and Walk Away the Pounds. I've recently added Jillian Michaels' "The Biggest Winner" workouts. I swear that woman is out to kill people! LOL
I also added Zumba, which I love!

I'm a proud West Virginian, born and raised. I attended school at Hamlin and attended Marshall University. I am happily married and my husband & I have 2 boys and 2 girls. I enjoy working with PSP, Digital Scrapping, reading, singing and love love love spending time with my family. I also LOVE BEING A SOCCER MOM! I'm currently working on my associate degree for medical billing and coding and I work part time at CURVES.

I'm 5' 10" tall and my starting weight as of December 17, 2008 is 319 lbs. That's not something I'm proud of but I'm choosing to do something about it.
