HELLO ALL,

WELCOME! to my Spark Page.

Come, sit down and have a cup of tea while we get to know each other!

Hope you enjoy your stay!

Well, here we are in 2015...wow!...another year to renew our health and fitness goals. The past year was an exciting one and many goals were met, but for me it ended on a slow note.
So this year it is time to rev things up again and continue the successes of this past year.

This year I want to put God first in my life and let Him lead me on this journey He has set before me.
So some of the verses from last year still apply for me:

Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you.
Matthew 6:33.

And the reminder that...

...with God all things are possible
Matthew 19:26

To these I add a third one to help motivate me and others who might stop by my page:

Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Phil 3: 12-14

With God's help, may we seek Him in all we do and reach the goals He has for us this year!

Hey Sue!

Sorry it's been so long since I've chatted with you. Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith. Awesome. I listen to contemporary Christian music in my car all the time, and I've gotten my co-worker to tune in to it a time or two. God is always working.

We celebrated my dad's 84th birthday yesterday at the nursing home. It turned out great. My sister and her friend came down from about 1 1/2 hours away, my brother and his wife from about an hour away, and my dad's brother, his lady friend, his daughter and her husband came from Wisconsin, from 3 hours away and 6 hours away. And my cousin's wife showed up from Indiana - a couple of hours away at least. Dad kept crying as the guests popped up. He was so happy. We had decorated a room they gave us for the party and had balloons and presents and cake and ice cream. My brother brought Kentucky Fried Chicken with all the sides. It couldn't have gone better.

And more good news. Dad moves into the VA nursing home a week from Tuesday. I will be so relieved once he gets there. I know his care will be much better and he will be happier.

Mom and I have been doctoring - it isn't fun getting old. Between work and the parental units, I am usually exhausted. I need some vacation time. But I would probably use that to take care of paperwork and get caught up on house cleaning and whatever else comes up, and something ALWAYS comes up.

Glad to hear that you are keeping busy and starting your fall challenge. Best of luck! Not that you'll need it. Showing up and doing the work will make it happen. You can do it!
