HELLO ALL,

WELCOME! to my Spark Page.

Come, sit down and have a cup of tea while we get to know each other!

Hope you enjoy your stay!

Spring has arrived!!
Time to get cracking again with those exercises and a good diet routine.

I have a couple of bible verses to share with you today:

1 Corinthians 10:13
"No trial has overtaken you that is not faced by others. And God is faithful: He will not let you be tried beyond what you are able to bear, but with the trial will also provide a way out so that you may be able to endure it"

and also:

Philippians 3:13-15

Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, have this attitude; and if in anything you have a different attitude, God will reveal that also to you;

Keep pressing on...keep on reaching for the goals that are set before you and me. With God's help we can do this!

Great birthday presents. I wish I knew how to plant and garden and all that good stuff. It's a little late now, with my back issues. I loved seeing pics of your garden last year. Hope you post some of the new tree and plants. What kind of tree did you get?

Thanks for praying for my mom. Independence is the exact right thing. She guards it fiercely and I'm glad she does.

I looked up the Oster Pro 1200. That looks like a powerful little machine. Right now I have an Osterizer Blender that I got at Wal-Mart. I don't use it much because it doesn't blend real well. I may need to upgrade.

Well, I've got to get off this computer while there is still daylight! Talk to you soon.

    Hey Girlfriend!

Exercise helps me sleep better, too. When I have a lazy day, I don't sleep well. It's a shame, really. All I need to do is get up and move, or do a walking tape, or go outside for a walk. Ten minutes at a time. How hard is that? emoticon An area that needs improvement!

What kind of smoothie maker do you have? I just use my cheapo blender. At one time I did have one of those very high dollar fancy blenders - I need to stay away from QVC. I only used it a couple of times, though, so I gave it away. Do you have a couple of quick, easy smoothie recipes you would care to share? Do you use protein powder at all? Sometimes I do, sometimes not. I wish I liked bananas or yogurt. Seems like every smoothie has one or the other.

I did a little cooking this morning and took some food over to my mom. She told me last night that her refrigerator was empty. She's in assisted living, and they do feed her three times a day, but sometimes she doesn't like what's on the menu, or she doesn't feel well and wants to stay in her apartment, or she's reading a really good book and doesn't want to stop and waste an hour getting a meal. So I keep her in fruit, hard boiled eggs, and a few quick skillet meals that she can just reheat in the microwave.

When I got over there this morning she told me she had fallen. Her arm is wrapped up in a bandage - apparently she sliced it open on something. Poor thing. She's really having a hard time with her diabetes, eyesight, balance, memory, etc. It's just a combination for disaster. Would you say a prayer for her?

Hmm. Not dropping pounds. I've read a few things about that. Let me see if I can find a blog I read about that. I'll send you the link.

Keep up the positive attitude! emoticon emoticon

    Hi Sue,

I took a couple days off from the computer. I needed to clean house, do laundry, pay bills, and get some books read. It's either feast or famine for me at the library and last week I left there with 7 books. I need to get control of myself! emoticon
Anyway, the work is done, a few of the books were good, and I'm rested up from the computer and ready to get back at it. The soda is gone, the sugar is gone, and while I am tempted by your chocolate recipe, I think I'll pass. Chocolate and diet soda are like gateway drugs to me. I'll soon be dipping into other bad foods if I'm not careful.

I'm glad to hear that your sleep is getting better. I've caught up on some much needed rest the last couple of days - I even took a couple of naps. It's scary how unfocused and run-down we can feel without proper sleep.

Have a beautiful day, Kiddo! emoticon

Hi Sue! I think we both know what we need to do. I just finished the last diet coke in the house and I am committing this second to No More Soda! I thought about doing it for a week, a month, til Easter, but really the goal is to never drink it again. It's poison. So one day at a time that's what I'm going to shoot for - no soda. That will go a long way towards getting me back on track with food. I have to do it. My numbers have to improve. I don't want to be on medication. And if I give up soda, I won't even want sugar or excess carbs. Win-Win!

I'm also going to cut back on my team participation and spend more time on improving my life. Some days I sit here for hours trying to get caught up with teams and individuals. It just isn't possible, and when I truly think about it, why am I doing it? It eats up a lot of time and I just don't want to give up that time anymore. I'm going to send this now, cuz I already typed it once and hit the wrong key and deleted it. Don't know what my problem is lately!

Ugh! I am so disappointed. I typed you a sparkmail a few days ago (right after I got your note) with all my goals and what I'm doing to achieve them, and agreeing to be accountability partners with you. When I saw your note on my page today I went to my mailbox to make sure it hadn't landed in my draft folder. It's nowhere! All that typing - poof! I don't know what happened. I feel terrible because you probably think I ignored you. I didn't! I'll try to email you later today. We can do this!
