Today is the first day of the rest of my life

I've decided to stop wishing I wasn't fat and take accountability for my weight!

I am so happy to have found this site. I love the internet and decided to search one more time for an online diet program that was free. This one came up first and I couldn't believe the quality of it. Lucky me! This place is full of so many great resources. I am looking forward to getting to know the people here.

I struggle with an all-or-nothing attitude on dieting. I have to keep reminding myself that this is about making changes to my lifestyle, not going on a diet. If I go ON a diet, I can go OFF a diet. I don't want that!

My Goals:
Walk up the stairs without getting winded!

I have others but I needed to start out with something =)

OK, I thought of one I really need to do - participate in some sort of daily cardio, even just ten minutes daily to start. Anything is an improvement at this point.

My Program:
Right now, since I just found this site, I am just trying to be aware of making small changes. I always had an all-or-nothing attitude and would burnout quickly.

I am trying to go for small changes that become habit (such as drinking my 8 glasses of water a day) and making them stick.

Time's going to pass anyway, why not pick up healthy new habits along the way?

Personal Information:
Moved to Miami from NYC 6 years ago and loving it. The weather here rocks. Well, the hurricanes I can do without. LOL

Monty & Marie, thanks for the kind words. I hope to make a difference this time and actually use SparkPeople. It's amazing that all this stuff is at our disposal and that it's free.

I am going to concentrate on baby steps. Like everyone else, I have a lot of going on in my life and if I approach this in a gung-ho sort of way, I will burn out and then what good will that do me?

So for now, I am going to try to get on that treadmill and make note of it in the challenge.
