Hi. Seems like I've been on one diet or another for most of my life. I am always going up the scale or down the scale. My ultimate goal is to be at a reasonable weight and learn how to STAY there !! I need HELP on developing strength and muscles!! My highest weight was 260....I feel left with a lot of flab- ugh!

My Goals:
Why do I want to lose weight
1. Feel in control of my eating
2 buy clothing because I like, not solely because it fits
3 to be less self conscious
4 be more social
5 feel strong and able
6 increased stamina
7 like myself in the mirror


Personal Information:
I am getting ready to start the 5% Summer Challenge. 5% of 176 is 8.8 pounds. That would be a bit more than one pound per week. I don't feel confident I will lose that much BUT my main goal is going to be exercise. I want to work on cardio, getting my heart rate up and I suppose, sweating. I am going to try and do 30 min of cardio a day in addition to strength and walking daily.

HI. I play ringette which is like hockey with a bunch of women +35 and older (up to 85 !) so it's not that threatening. My kids both played hockey too. The Would You Ever ... game wasn't my creation but it goes like this: Someone posts a "Would you ever.." question. The next person responds yes or no and why and then poses a question of their own for the next person. Something like: Would you ever go sky diving, eat an insect, visit a nude beach etc. Some people are really creative. It's fun. You get to know interesting things about your team mates and it doesn't take any care or feeding once you start.
