My Goals:
1. Read 120 books in 2015.
Read so far: 54 books
2. Qualify for the Boston Marathon.
3. Run till I'm 100.

Upcoming Races:
2/14/2016 Austin Marathon

My Program:
1) Run 6 days a week - following a custom marathon training plan.
(On hiatus at the moment.)
2) Eat clean.
3) Work with a personal trainer 2 days a week.

Personal Information:
I love cats and am owned by 6 of them. I also enjoy keeping fish. I have a 2400 gallon koi pond, a 125 gallon goldfish pond, and more aquariums than I am willing to admit to, ranging in size from 2.5 gallons to 140 gallons. I love to garden, in particular to grow my own vegetables. Unfortunately, I no longer have a good space for this, but do have lots of herbs.

I am now (happily) retired.

My husband and I will celebrate our 41st anniversary in May, 2015.

Other Information:
I am a voracious reader. I love my Kindle and the public library.

My field of study at university was English literature (I have an advanced degree in medieval English literature). My first career was teaching at university, but after a few years I went over "to the dark side" and spent most of my professional life at a large, multinational computer company, principally as a planner and project manager.

I am passionate about opera and an emeritus member of the Board of Trustees of the Austin Lyric Opera.

I also serve on the Boards of Austin Shakespeare (Vice President) and the Austin Chamber Music Center (President) as well as serving as the current President of the Austin branch of the English Speaking Union.

Only one more to go. My 24th and final laser treatment will be April 1st. The laser is UB, like a very big dose of sunlight. I don't think it has helped at all, although the laser tech thinks there are areas of improvement. The psoriasis definitely has spread and involves even the tops of my toes and is creeping up my ankles. I'm currently following a dermatologist's elimination diet I found online which does not have the detox nor the alkaline-acid balance that the Healing Psoriasis book advocates. I plan to stick to this food plan for 3 months (April-June) to see if it helps. Not sure which way I'll go after that. Sure wish I could run. Thanks for your concern.

Thanks for your support! I got 7+ miles in so far this week - it would be easier if the outside weather would cooperate!!!

Thanks for commenting on my winter camping blog. From the last blog, I looked up the rainfall, that west coast rim temperate rain forest is 120 inches a year and we have 60 and I think that's a lot and Austin has 30.
Quite a few comments on my blog that winter camping in the snow was not their cup of tea lol. Also you said you are not a snow bird, that's what we call Canadians that go south for the winter, to Florida, Arizona, Mexico, and it has the opposite meaning, ie getting away from the snow.
I am doing a HM tomorrow, very slowly, and just for the vanity and pleasure of having a JG virtual inaugural medal and t-shirt.

I recall them assigning them, but we didn't necessarily stay where we belonged. I don't remember them policing it.
