A little spark in my life

It's time to spring clean here on my Spark page. This is a different year and a different me. I have been retired for 3 years and have still to find what I want to do with the rest of my life. Whatever it is, I want to be healthy. This winter has been a tough one. I have lost ground with my weight and my physical condition. It's time to spark! With that in mind, I am going to actively participate in the 5% Spring Challenge. This time I am a Tiger Monarch.

5% Challenge goals
1. I will eat three healthy meals and record each thing I eat.
2. I will choose healthy snacks.
3. I will exercise at least 10 minutes each day.
4. I will record my efforts on my team page.
4. I will encourage my teammates by visiting their pages and blogs.

I am in a constant battle to keep my weight down. I have been a yo-yo dieter since forever. Right now I'm just trying to get back to my first "got-to-lose" weight almost 40 years ago. Losing hasn't been the problem. Getting my mind set is usually where I first get stuck. Once I'm in, I'm all in and the weight comes off! The problem: I don't keep it off. I quit writing down my food and making healthy food choices. I love chocolate, fried foods, pastries, cookies . . . and I like baking. When I didn't have something yummy to eat, I made it.

SparkPeople has solved most of my problems if I will just keep on using the services offered. I like all of the help offered by SparkPeople website. The community here is very supportive and encouraging.

I have a wonderful family--my parents and all of my brothers, my husband, children, grandchildren. I want to keep healthy and be around for a long time. I'm glad I've added a little spark to my life!

Thanks for encouraging me on this first week of the Spring challenge. I too am in a new season of life. I'm starting to know what I am to do, but of course I cannot do it, if I am not living healthy. So here we are! emoticon

Thanks for stopping by; good to hear from you! I wasn't at all bothered by the team change. I'd been a happy butterfly, but I like to change teams, so I'd signed up to be a cat. So that worked out perfectly for me. Yay, Tiger Monarchs! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Thanks for updating your goals on the team page. Those are great. Did you know that every pound lost takes 4 lbs of pressure off of your knees? Best of luck to you on the challenge!
