Linda's Weightloss Journey

Hi y'all *waving* I'm Linda. I live in South-central Virginia not far from the NC state border. I live in a VERY rural area called Baskerville; we have part-time post office and that's about it.

I will be married 29 years this month (August) to the milkman. LOL Yes, I said 'the milkman'. He's been driving a milk tanker almost 20 years picking up raw milk from dairy farms and delivering it to milk plants to be processed for consumption. I have a 27 year old daughter who was born ...

I will be married 29 years this month (August) to the milkman. LOL Yes, I said 'the milkman'. He's been driving a milk tanker almost 20 years picking up raw milk from dairy farms and delivering it to milk plants to be processed for consumption. I have a 27 year old daughter who was born with William's Syndrome. She make me see the world in a different light everyday. No matter how bad I feel, she can usually make me smile with her 'it'll be ok in a couple days'. :-)

I'm trying harder this time to stick with losing weight. Wish me luck!!

My Goals:
To get to a HEALTHY weight

To get off diabetes medicine

To get my Hyperthyroidism under control and hopefully go med-free one day

To be able to just WALK without pain

To be able to get down on my knees without pain in my knees and lower legs

To be able to ride a bike again

To be able to sit in any chair I want without fear of breaking it or not fitting

To be able to fit comfortably in an airline seat so I can finally visit my friend, Eva, out in California

My Program:
Basically, just learn correct portion control and add exercise as I am physically able to.

I am allowing myself 1 FREE day to eat what I like. That's makes dieting easier to me knowing I have a day to look forward to. :-)

Personal Information:
Hey Y'all! My name's Linda and I'm a born and raised south-central Virginian. I'm very happily married to the most wonderful man ever! I'm also very lucky to be the mother to a beautiful 27 year old daughter, who has Williams Syndrome.

Other Information:
I was diagnosed in the summer of 2013 with Hyperthyroidism. A few months later I was told I was also diabetic. Thankfully, the diabetes are not OUT OF CONTROL. I'm still battling with chronic anemia after having to have 2 blood transfusions in a 1 1/4 years time frame due to extreme blood loss (it's a woman thing). Add the Hyperthyroidism and the anemia and that makes for an extremely pooped Linda. It's really annoying not having the energy to anything! I wake up with good intentions but the body just won't go along with any of my plans. :-(

Yep, found that out too. I've been fighting with anemia for about 3 years now, but I was eating ice before then. :-)

LoL my daughter chews ice.. and when I was telling her doctor she seemed concerned and said it was a sign of low iron.. that people with low iron chew ice.. well she was tested and yup she suffers from low iron.. which is under control but still chews ice. guess habits are hard to break.. good luck with the challenge
