Well, I usually throw a protein in there, appropriate accompanying: vegetables; spices; broth base. I've made a Thai style pot of Thai chilies with cabbage, carrot, mushrooms, onions, shallots, ginger, etc. with a Miso Broth and the protein was shrimp.
I've make a Italian style pot with store bought, mushroom broth base; carrot; celery; shallot; garlic; sweet, yellow, & red onion; scallion; green bell pepper; jalapeno; ground venison; rosemary; thyme; salt; pepper; basil. (I remember this one so good because it was recently "My Current Status" on the "Friend Feed".)
I've made a Mexican style pot where the protein was ground beef and the spices were Mexican Taco style.
I have a Spark Friend that belongs to a "Crock Pot Team" and she'll even throw in a piece of meat like a chunk of London Broil to slow cook it. Other people commented on the my post to the "Friend Feed" that they do homemade Chicken Soup in there.
