Growing up I was always skinny, maybe a little TOO skinny...was like a human vacuum too! All that changed when I was 16-years-old when I gained almost 100 lbs. in less than a year. I went from 114 to 215 lbs. I realized that something had to change...That I could not eat everything in sight and not gain a pound.

At the time I hated to exercise (this was before I tried running). So I started watching my portions, cut out fast food and soda, and went to the gym. I would do 30 minutes on the stationary bike and about 15 minutes of resistance training afterwards.

In less than a year, I went from 215 to 135 lbs. and maintained that weight ever since.

It wasn't until I turned 23-years-old that I found I loved running and began to actually LOVE exercise. Once I tried it I was hooked! Maybe a little too much. I went from 127 to 114 lbs. within just a few months. I lost a lot of body fat in the process so I probably looked skinnier than I was. A friend of mine once told me at that time that I looked like a board.

The thing is though, I was obsessed with it and on top of that I was eating next to nothing...At least not nearly enough for someone of my activity level. After months of eating, sleeping, and running my body had finally had enough...and I ended up injuring myself from overtraining. I injured my groin muscle which sidelined me for about 6 months. I probably would have recovered sooner if my stubborn self would not have continued to try to run during that time.

Anyway, after recovering from my injury it took me a while to find a healthy balance between food and exercise.

I am now 31-years-old... I don't starve or deprive myself, I eat anything I want in moderation. My favorite saying is "you can celebrate your birthday, just not everybody's birthday".


I have been a runner for several years now and have completed two half-marathons. I also love yoga, strength training, and walking.

I am now a mommy of a beautiful 3 month old baby boy whom I love to pieces and is my world! I gained about 70 lbs during my pregnancy so my goal now is to lose 40 lbs to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight.

*not obsess about calories taken in and calories burned


My Program:
* Running (overall) 3-4 days/week

* Running (intervals, tempo, hills) 2-3 days/week

* Strength training 2-3 days/week

* Yoga/Pilates 1 day/week (flexibility)

* Eat high protein/low carb diet

*Keep sugar intake to a minimum

I love to read! My favorite authors are Sophie Kinsella (the Shopoholic series), J.D. Robb, James Patterson, Twilight series, etc.

I basically like any kind of music except heavy metal and rap.

My favorite movies are of course chick flicks, horror, drama and comedy. I'll even watch action, although it wouldn't be my first choice.
