Apparently, I have recently become a New Yorker. I thought that meant that I live in New York. But, what it really means is that I am functioning at a high level, trying to get the most out of every hour, seeking ways to take better care of myself -- body, mind, and spirit -- while also trying to advance in my artistic endeavors. I am simultaneously putting in a lot of hours trying to figure out how to better leverage my resources (time and finances) in an effort to free myself from the daily grind and move into a lifestyle where I can focus more intensely on my craft.

My Goals:
Quality of Life:
To wake up on a daily basis feeling positive about what is coming next.
To improve my overall physical fitness so that daily life feels easier.

Weight Loss Goals:
#1: 30 pounds by October 31st.
#2: 45 pounds by Christmas.
#3: 100 pounds by August 6, 2014


My Program:
I am following the Paleo Diet and Lifestyle. It involves eating whole foods only, avoiding legumes, grains and refined sugars (including all things corn), and eliminating chemicals. I love this plan because I love to cook and it gives me the opportunity to try lots and lots of new things in the kitchen. In my first week, I lost 5 pounds. I am saving my next weigh-in for the first month, which comes up on September 7!!
I haven't figured out my exercise program, but I am determined to settle on something that works for me by the end of my first month. To "settle on something," I am trying a variety of different activities, like walk/runs; boot camp; zumba; and water aerobics. I figure I'm bound to find something that holds my interest!
