Finally Fabulous at 40+

UPDATE-**4/9/14**
I am now 48 years old. I lost 100 lbs on 4/10/10 and I was elated!! And it was as if I said, "Ok, I have done it, now I am good" and just stopped dieting. In the almost 4 years I have gained 25 lbs! Impossible! but true :( I never stopped working out, I just havent worked as hard. And my clean eating just went out the window with 3 vacations in one year and a ...

UPDATE-**4/9/14**
I am now 48 years old. I lost 100 lbs on 4/10/10 and I was elated!! And it was as if I said, "Ok, I have done it, now I am good" and just stopped dieting. In the almost 4 years I have gained 25 lbs! Impossible! but true :( I never stopped working out, I just havent worked as hard. And my clean eating just went out the window with 3 vacations in one year and a cruise! So now, I am back!! I look forward to re-losing the extra weight and losing down to my goal of at least 160. And I am sticking with it. Small goals that are attainable and if need be, going at a slow pace. Just keep on, keeping on! That will get me there :)

Losing weight, its been a part of my whole life.
Now at 44 I am finally taking matters into my own hands and actually doing what it takes to lose the weight. For the past 4-1/2 years I have faithfully been making my way to my local YMCA and learned how to use the machines and work out! I have lost 96lbs and have 16lbs more to go.
Recently, I have realized that only I have the power to change myself. With God's help of course. But I realize that the food we eat is so important in maintaining a healthy body. We make choices to eat food and that choice is a MAJOR one. We can eat to be eating, or we can eat to fuel our bodies so they will run and perform the way that God had originally intended them to run. He did not create bodies for His children that will break down at the age of 60. NO! He created our bodies perfectly! Our bodies are machines that will run for as long as God intended them to run and carry out His plan. He LOVES us!
But many times we make choices to eat foods that will cause our bodies to break down and errode too soon. Food is our fuel and ONLY fuel. Its not meant to be lord over our lives.
Food is fuel, and if that fuel is is made from unnatural ingredients and is processed, then we can expect our bodies to be unnatural and processed. With cancer and sickness running rampant in the lives of so many people today, we must make the choice to change the way we eat and live.

Thats why I have made the change. Sure its a gradual process! And so far, a slower one than I had wanted. But it is progressing!!! I am doing it!!
I am making better food choices and am working out regularly.
Eat to Live, NOT live to eat!!


God has given me the knowledge of right and wrong as far as food goes. Its time I use that knowledge and shine my light for Him!

My Goals:
First, I am determined to live my life for Jesus Christ who died for me. I am very interested in living a "clean" life. Clean foods for my health and clean living so I can sleep every night with no regrets. I owe my happiness to God for sending me a wonderful husband 25 years ago, who has been everything to me. We have a wonderful life together and as long as I am on this earth I will do my best to make him as happy as he has made me. Second, My goal is to lose as much weight as I can so that I will no longer be in the obese catergory when crunching the numbers for my body mass index!! I would love to just have a healthy, normal size body for the first time in my life!

My Program:
Lots of workouts with my gym friends at 5:30am!
Food is Fuel!! Food is not my god. Keeping that in perspective has proven to be a challange to me.

*Chocolate- once I get started I dont stop till its all gone!
*Garlic: I love it, but I will crave sweets after eating it.
*The smell of bread baking! If I dont smell it, I dont want it.
*Cookies, especially the chocolate chip variety.
