Hi. : ) My quote pretty much explains my return to Spark, hoping that the "third time's a charm" thing proves - well, a charm. I've actually had a good degree of success the two previous times I seriously paid attention to what I was doing with myself; however, due to my not following through - yes, it's all my own doing - I admit it! - I've regained the weight, plus more, that I was able to take off previously.
And I was younger - and I was pre-menopausal - and I was more attentive to what I ate, and working out, and totally fell off that nice, pretty wagon. Ergh. Sure, there were reasons for it. There's a whole list of them, actually. Some make sense, some are just from me feeling sorry for myself and again - not staying attentive. I knew better, yah - I just didn't practice it. Reasons but...not excuses.
I could wax ad nauseum about what brought me to re-gaining all the weight that I have - and I just might, some time or other, since I love to talk (with my mouth OR my fingers! : )) However, that won't be at the moment - yes, I'll spare you - and I'll just add that, as my borrowed Franklin Delano Roosevelt quote states, I'll just keep keepin' on, until I finally figure out what makes me stick with it. No excuses, no denials, no blaming anyone or anything else - just wanting to try and straighten my previous healthy living all out, again. ::knocking on wood:: : )
To regain my health; to lose some of this massive weight I have re-attached to me; and to be able to get back to enjoying those things that I do!
It all boils down to this - watch what you eat, watch your serving sizes, don't deprive yourself of everything nummy - just remember moderation! - don't eat a bunch of "stuff" at night (one of my BIG downfalls), and one of the most important things for me - get off my lazy tuckus and work out, again! Consistently! Plus, I gotta learn some patience, more motivation, and not to get too frustrated and want to give up when I am not a six 6 in a week or thereabouts.
Yes, actually, I really did like, an awful lot, to work out, though due to some surgery I had very recently to remove part of a lung, I can't yet return back to that kind of working out. However, I gotta start somewhere, and I thought the best place was here.
Start slow - some walking, a little toning - and work my way back, hopefully.
Like I said, I know what to do - I just gotta make myself do it!
I live in Muskegon, MI - not far off of Lake Michigan - and I have a wonderfully patient, responsible, and very funny husband, and we live in an old, historic house with our two sometimes-mangy dogs, and our nutty cat. I have a tremendously loved and also funny 25 year old daughter, who is married and lives in the Detroit suburbs, where I am originally from, and she and her husband have a stunningly gorgeous and yes, B R I L L I A N T almost-20 month old daughter, who reminds me how wonderful little kids really are. Unfortunately, they live across the state, and I don't get to see them near as much as I want (which is like, every single day, if I could). : ) My husband owns a Goldwing that he loves to ride, and we like to travel - sometimes long distances! - on it; we've been to the Blue Ridge Mtns, upstate New York, and might be traveling out to the Grand Canyon on it - updates to follow. : ) We also like to kayak, and take our dogs out to all the beautiful state parks in the area.
