I'm a mother of an 11 year old son. I want to get the person back that I remember. I've always been an athlete and I enjoy being outside. I want to jump on the trampoline with my son without being winded in 20 minutes.

I've been on the road to success only to come to an off ramp to help others. I am claiming this as "my time" to shine. Above all others and to stay on the interstate of sucess for myself and for my family.


Since I started taking care of me a month ago, I noticed something. My son, who likes to eat because he is bored or tired. (My son has ADHD and has anxiety attacks.) He has started to drink at least 3-5 glasses of water a day and has started picking up fruits & veggies over the sugar-laden foods. My son made a goal for hisself regarding his medicine so I made my first weight-loss goal to get below 200 lbs. I haven't been below 200 since he was born. I get within 6 lbs of it and some life crisis happens or my family & friends drag me under.

Not this time, I'm taking myself back as priority #1.

Just got back on the workout wagon.

I work out during lunch with some friends. I have started taking my dog to my son's school and walking/jogging him around the track. I don't have to worry about being into traffic this way.

I have a dog (American Mastiff), three cats (two solid white) and a stray we found during the ice storm earlier this year.

I like to watch UFC fighting, especially when Hendo is fighting.

    Nice! Having a personal trainer will be great!
    Last year for Mother's Day, my husband and kids gave me three months with a private yoga instructor at my house. Now we've turned it into a small Ashtanga yoga group once a week. I might skip out on going to the gym or a walk by myself, bur I'd never let my yoga teacher or group down.

    Hey Lisa - if you got to Sparkrecipes and look for my user name I have several cookbooks on Clean Eating. There are a variety of recipes there and I have sorted them out by catagory (i.e. breakfast, entrees, spreads, etc...). I have also written notes on them as to what the kids liked, or what we would need to change.

    What I do with beans is chop them finely in the food processor and then add them back into ground turkey or lean ground sirloin. No one even notices that they are there and everyone still gets the benefits. Trust me, I have two kids and they don't even know they are there!

    The CE French Toast was a big hit with the kids as well as the Oatmeal pancakes. With the kids I have started a new snack program - lots of cut veggies and fresh fruit in the fridge; they can have something from the pantry AFTER eating something from the fridge.

    I also put out storage containers for their treats (whole wheat goldfish, gingersnaps, Teddy Grahams) and on the side of the container put a note of how many equal a serving and the calories. Doing that alone reduced the amount of grab and eat the entire box! LOL!

    We also eat Laura's Lean beef when we have beef; have switched to Ronzoni healthy pasta (like it better then Barilla); sage crusted pork tenderloin was a big hit and you can even make pulled pork sandwiches in the crockpot; and I try to have two veggies as well as fresh fruit on the table at dinner.
