Lisa's Place
When I first started here, I was guessing at my weight. The guess, I'm thinking, was incorrect. I thought I had lost a fair amount of weight when I finally bought a scale (got two digital scales: a large one to weigh me, and a small one to weigh my food). The new scale said I weighed 181 pounds, and this was after I'd lost an inch or so around my middle. I now weight 173 pounds because I lost focus. What *was* doesn't matter as much as what it is now. I'm a Type II diabetic with high blood pressure and high cholesterol; my goal is to reverse all three of these and if that gets me down to a weight somewhere in the 130-150 weight range, I'm good with that. The doc is interested in me getting down as close as I can to the 95-105 pounds listed for someone who's only 4'11" but I'm thinking not.

My Goals:
My ultimate goal is to get down to 130-150, wherever in the weight range I no longer need the blood pressure and diabetes medication. Where I go from there will depends upon what *I* think when the doctor says I no longer need my meds.
My Program:
Before food goes in my mouth, it goes on the small digital scale and I write the numbers down, even the one day a week I eat exactly what I please. It means I lose weight more slowly, but that's okay. I'll have the time to make smaller more frequent portions of healthier food a habit. Oh, and I've been re-working my favorite comfort foods to make them less damaging.
Personal Information:
I'm a web-footed 3rd generation Seattlite who, unfortunately, enjoys her own cooking...and chocolate. My name is Lisa... ...and I'm a chocoholic.
Other Information:
My main hobby is Living History with a group of like-minded individuals that portrays the 1858-1863 time period on the west coast of North America. I also write alternate-universe fantasy.
